Each half-day workshop, led by leading industry professionals and noted academics, affords opportunities for unique training and development.

The ICRC pre-conference workshops offers interactive environments that allows you to become fully immersed in a topic that directly relates to you and your professional needs. Whether you are looking to learn more about how to manage crisis communication efforts for the media or how to manage the message that is being relayed to those affected by the crisis, the 2014 ICRC Pre-Conference workshops can fill those voids.

Message Matrix® Workshop

Led by Curley & Pynn President Roger Pynn, APR, CPRC, and Vice President Dan Ward, APR, this workshop which guides participants through a process of issue identification and message consistency, allowing spokespeople to view questions not as requirements to answer but as opportunities to respond with consistent, prepared messaging. Participants will be provided with a step-by-step process to communicating in times of crisis, so that when a crisis occurs, they are confident, composed and prepared to respond to any question.

 

Afternoon Workshops 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Led by Ann SanCartier, founder of The Crisis Compass, this interactive workshop will leave you with a deeper understanding of peoples needs in a crisis. Participants will also be provided with strategic, proven methods on how to compassionately care for those experiencing a critical event.

 

 

KarenMasulloProtecting Your Organization or Company with a Scalable Social Media Risk Strategy

Led by Karen Masullo, Executive Vice President of Social Media at Firestorm Solutions, LLC, this workshop will examine the components of a sound social media risk strategy then replicate a variety of crises that require crisis messaging. Throughout this highly interactive session, participants will be organized into response teams to manage rapid-fire scenarios that replicate the “blind-side” of social media risk.
