{"id":1383,"date":"2014-10-17T13:34:31","date_gmt":"2014-10-17T17:34:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/communication.cos.ucf.edu\/icrc\/?page_id=1383"},"modified":"2014-10-17T13:34:31","modified_gmt":"2014-10-17T17:34:31","slug":"icrc-history","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/communication.ucf.edu\/icrc2015\/about\/icrc-history\/","title":{"rendered":"ICRC History"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"color: #343434\">International Crisis and Risk Communication (ICRC) Conference History<\/h3>\n<p style=\"color: #343434\">The ICRC Conference was designed to facilitate interaction and discussion about crisis and risk communication among members of both the professional and academic research communities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #343434\">The concept for an international crisis and risk communication conference was created when it was\u00a0observed that research scholars tended to \u201ctalk with\u201d and interact predominately with other research scholars at academic conferences and meetings. Likewise, professionals seemed to be sharing with other professionals in a variety of conventions, expos and trade shows driven by vendor sales. \u00a0It was identified that there\u00a0was a need for expanded idea sharing and conversations to create a new synergy that engaged the perspectives of both practitioners and academics.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #343434\">Further recognizing that issues surrounding crisis and risk communication are not limited by national boundaries, it seemed that connecting international professionals and research scholars was key to enriching the conversation.
