Submissions
Three Ways to Submit
1. Call for Presentations – (DEADLINE: Dec. 15, 2016)
To submit an abstract to be considered to be a part of the ICRCC, please email it to
icrc@ucf.edu by Dec. 15, 2016 and include “ICRCC 2017 Abstract” in the subject line.
Abstracts are not to exceed 500 words. Acceptance of submission requires author
commitment to register and present at the upcoming conference event.
2. Student Paper Competition – (DEADLINE: Dec. 15, 2016)
The Nicholson School of Communication is awarding a limited number of scholarships for
graduate students who wish to present at the ICRC Conference. Students entering the
student competition must submit full, completed papers, adhere to the symposium theme
— Bridging the Gaps: Strategic Communication and Mega Crises — follow APA guidelines
and not exceed 20 pages including references, tables and figures etc. Papers should
focus on either crisis or risk and can be completed studies, case studies or analyses of
current policies/practices. Only full papers will be accepted, no abstracts. All papers must
be submitted to icrc@ucf.edu by 11:59 p.m. EST Dec. 15, 2016.
3. Student Poster Competition – (DEADLINE: Jan. 15, 2017)
The 7th Annual International Crisis and Risk Communication Conference at the Nicholson
School of Communication is calling for student poster submissions adhering to the
conference theme Bridging the Gaps: Strategic Communication and Mega Crises. Posters
can focus on either crisis, risk, health or emergency management perspectives of mega
crises and can be completed studies, case studies, or analyses of current
policies/practices.
Submit poster title, a 150 to 250 word abstract, and author contact information to
icrc@ucf.edu by 11:59 p.m., Jan. 15, 2017. Students whose proposals are accepted will be
notified within a few days to of submission in order to prepare their posters.
Posters should not be larger than 48”wide x 36”tall (4ftx3ft) in order to fit on the board.
