Elizabeth Spradley, Ph.D. Is an assistant professor at Stephen F. Austin State University. With a focus on health and family communication, Dr. Spradley  is an editorial board member for Intima, a medical humanities journal focusing on narrative medicine, and actively pursues a research agenda focused on the transition to parenthood, infant feeding, work-life issues, and mediated messages related to health risks. Additional research interests include crisis communication, conflict, and pedagogy in health communication. Her work has been published in the Journal of Community Informatics.  Personally, Dr. Spradley enjoys her family, organic gardening, canning, raising chickens, cooking, and speaking and writing about her faith.
