Osama is currently working on a large project in cooperation with a number Ph.D. students and professors from different Universities to analyze the international and domestic news coverage of the 2016 U.S. presidential election. For his Master’s thesis to earn a degree in International Communication, Osama will conduct a content analysis of the news coverage of Muslims before and during the 2016 election to compare how Muslims have portrayed in the U.S media during these two periods, and whether the political rhetoric has an influence on new framing of Muslims. Osama is planning to pursue his Ph.D. in political communication as soon as he graduates from the University of Florida. Then he will be back to Saudi Arabia to work as an assistant professor at King Abdul-Aziz University.
