Ashfara Haque teaches in the Department of Communication and Media Studies, at University of Development Alternative (UODA) and Department of Media Studies and Journalism, in University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh. Recently she has finished a research graduate program at Edith Cowan University, Western Australia. As SUSI (Study of the United States Institute) scholar on Journalism and Media, Ms Ashfara attended this year’s summer program at the E.W. Scripps College of Communication, Ohio University, USA. She worked as a Fellow Journalist with Deutsche Welle (DW), Bonn Germany during 2009 – 2010 where she contributed to the Bengali Service radio programming and web portal. Ashfara Haque is interested in issues relating to crisis communication and media, climate change and environmental communication, media advocacy, children and media. She has published articles in academic journals like The Social Science Review (Bangladesh) and Media Asia (AMIC, Singapore). Currently she is working for two book chapters on environment and media and community media. She worked as a research associate with international non-governmental organizations such as BRAC, UNICEF, UESCO. Ms Haque is a life time member of AMIC, Australian Awards, the United States International Exchange, and member of AEJMC, IAMCR etc.
