Biography
Dr. Amiso George, APR, Fellow PRSA, is professor and former chair of the Strategic Communication department at Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, USA. A Fulbright scholar, she is the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) “2017 Educator of the Year.” She also received the 2017 Bridge Award for Excellence in Strategic Communication Research from the International Crisis and Risk Communication Conference (ICRCC) and the University of Central Florida Nicholson School of Communication. George directed the Public Relations program at the University of Nevada, Reno, where she developed and taught the first crisis communication course. A visiting professor at Swinburne University in Australia, she has worked as a crisis consultant in the United States, Nigeria, Australia and Malaysia, and has been quoted many times in the media on crisis communication issues. She is co-editor of three books, including Crisis Communication: International Perspectives on Hits and Misses (Routledge, 2012) and Culture and Crisis Communication: Transboundary Cases from Nonwestern Societies.
