Emily K. Johnson, Ph.D. conducts research focusing on educational technology, simulations and learning, gameful learning, self-regulated learning, learner motivation & self-efficacy, and in-situ assessments. Prior to this position, she served as Postdoctoral Research Associate and Coordinator of the Games Research Lab here at UCF where she collaborated with faculty, staff, and students from a variety of disciplines to plan, fund, conduct, and publish a wide range of games-related research. Emily earned her Ph.D. in Texts and Technology from the University of Central Florida after teaching middle school Language Arts for eight years. She earned her M.A. in Reading Education from the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL and her BA in English from Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA.
