Biography

Seth Fendley is the Director of Debate who regularly teaches argumentation and debate while coaching UCF’s nationally competitive policy debate team. He has coached squads across the southern United States for the past five years including teams which have received first-round NPTE bids and national champions in IPDA debate.

He is finishing his dissertation from the University of Southern Mississippi focusing on native advertising’s influence in the public sphere. His research interests include digital rhetoric, public sphere, argumentation, and advocacy rhetoric. Prior to working towards a Ph.D. at Southern Mississippi, he earned a master’s degree in communication at Arkansas State University and a bachelor’s degree in communication/public relations at Arkansas Tech University.
