Miley Cyrus Has a Long Recovery From an Allergic Reaction She Suffered From

Singer Miley Cyrus can last up to three weeks in the hospital because of an allergic reaction due to taking an antibiotic medicine, which was reported by her representative on Thursday. In fact Miley Cyrus was escorted to a Tuesday to a hospital while on her “Bangerz” tour.

At least Miley Cyrus is not being stubborn, and decided to seek medical help for her sickness. There are many stars that need to address their personal issues, but won’t think it is necessary to stop the current tour they are on at the current moment.

On Thursday morning, Cyrus tweeted to her followers, “Over the hospital.” “Can’t quit crying I wanna go back on tour. I’m meant to be onstage performing for y’all… not laying in a hospital bed.”

I can give Miley Cyrus some credit for reaching out to her fans, and communicating with them her concerns towards individuals who must know how Miley feels and what current condition is she in. Fans can appreciate celebrities who are still setting a positive attitude even in worst scenarios they are facing in their lives.

Cyrus canceled a show for Charlotte, North Carolina, along with Kansas City and St. Louis due to what seem to be a flu-like illness.

Cyrus’s representative said, “She will remain hospitalized and is under a doctor’s care until we see some improvement in her condition and is asking for your compassion and privacy at this time.”

That being said, all Miley Cyrus fans can take a deep breath, and look forward to seeing Miley very soon.

Will 5G be a Game Changer in the land of Technology?

Who remembers those days of 1G speed used in our internet or phones? If you are reading this article, chances are you do not remember because 1G was all the way back into the 80s. Now, for most of us, that is not a long time ago, however technology has changed rapidly from that time. From ads bombarding your television to deals stating “4G Available,” 4G has been the paramount speed for the past two to three years. However, it was a process to get to the point we are currently at.

It took almost ten years for 1G to turn into 2G. Then it took almost another ten years to reach the next level of 3G. Lately though, contrary to that similar progression, 3G to 4G has been only eight months. Now 4G, which has only reigned supreme for a relative short amount of time, will soon fall in the same suit like its predecessors to 5G. People are asking though, what exactly is 5G? For starters, 5G is 1,000 times faster than 4G. For example, a full feature movie take around 40 seconds to download on 4G. 5G will download that same movie in a second. A question that multiple sources are asking is exactly how long will it be until 5G because regularly available? The Southern Korean government has already began to invest $1.5billion into research and having 5G available by the end of this decade.

Some questions that arise is exactly how 5G will change the landscape? Due to the sheer speed of 5G, new technologies will be able to work faster and with more efficiency. For example, Skype did not work too well on a 3G platform, but performed beautifully at 4G. Netflix, one of the biggest movie and show databases, works excellent with the current 4G platform. However, the current version of Netflix would have not been able to work on a 2G platform. These examples show that 5G will not only be a game changer, but will pave the way for a birth of new technology.

Casual Cannabis Users Beware: How mild use of cannabis is supposedly bad for your health

Today I read an article focusing on the negative aspects of the casual use of marijuana. Supposeidly causal users experience adverse effects from the minimum use of smoking cananbis. Physiscians have stated that smoking cannabis only on occaions causes stimulation in the developmental part of the brain. If someone of the age of 18-25 smokes, he or she can experience negative side-effects for the long term, yet heavy uses somehow develop an immunity to it over a period of time.

This is why I believe the study to be motivated not by medical science, but by polictial agendas. It seems odd to me that a story such as this should reach the front page of a respected website such as Yahoo! News as marijuana becomes more mainstream. I believe people who are against the legalization of medical marijuana often will make wild accuzations without much scienctfic background. Change can be very scarey for people, escpacially after a very effective campaign for their entire lives.

Over time people who claim these things are bad for you become the same people who advocate their use. Doctors before have said that tabacco was completely safe until the mainstream deemed otherwise. This will be the case with weed as well. As doctors do actually research as the previalince of canabis use becomes more widespread, it is completely possible that medical professionals will discover way more positive aspects of the drug than negative. I look forward to the day that doctors themsleves advocate the use of the drug as opposed to fighting it.

Instant Gratification an American Epidemic

In today’s society we receive things almost instantly. We expect people to text back as quick as possible, email us back the same day, and we even has establishments called “fast food.” I know first hand that I also suffer from this now forming epidemic of instant gratification.

Technology has come a long way in a short amount of time. Now that we have computers, smart phones, tablets, and other technologies we have forgotten how to wait for things. Realistically American’s can have what they want when they want it. Even if we don’t have the money. Thanks to credit cards and loans I don’t have to wait to by a 60 inch flat screen TV.

Now the real question: Is society going down hill because of it. As a society we get anxious if a person has not texted back in a time frame of two minutes. This often causes fights and doubt about the person on the other end. All of this instant feed back could be getting the best of us. We are missing out on the excitement of saving up $12,000.00 and finally being able to by that brand new car.

Maybe society needs to back a lot off expecting things to be instant and spend more time living in the moment and being happy with what we have and be excited about what we are looking forward to. Waiting is something I believe we have to start developing again. I know I get antsy when I can’t get internet service and I want to know who sings a certain song, what a word means, or who was it that movie.

Instant gratification is an epidemic that no one is even noticing and I believe it is time we take a good hard look our society that we have built.

University of Central Florida Fraternity– Sigma Nu Hosts The Fifth Annual “Undie Classic”

The Undie Classic is an underwear run to benefit Goodwill Industries of Central Florida. The idea was first brought up by Steven Harowitz and then carried out in 2009 with the help of Joseph Lebowitz. “The run was designed, and will always be, operated with a philanthropic focus.

The fun event does not cost any money. Instead, the charge to run is clothing donations.  This year, Sigma Nu has a goal to collect over 2,000 pounds of clothing. Also, sponsors will be donating money to match the amount of clothes donated.  Sigma Nu is expanding their annual event by giving both monetary and clothing donations to Goodwill.

The run begins and ends at Lake Claire on Friday, April 18 at 6 p.m. Although this is an extremely carefree way of giving back to the community, there are a couple of rules:

1)      Undies are required. You cannot be naked; no matter how good looking you think you           are.

2)      You must present a valid UCF student I.D in order to participate.

3)      Wedgies are frowned upon.  Don’t be that person… Everyone who participates in the             Undie Classic has a blast. It’s an opportunity to run around campus in your undies                 and not have a cop chasing after you!

The date of the first year that we held the Undie Classic coincided with ACE Day put on by the Burnett Honors College. Before I even knew of the event, I can remember the Honors College staff laughingly telling me of the reaction of the elementary kids as they exited the Pegasus Ballroom to see all of the participants running through the Union in their underwear.

Opinion: Carmelo Anthony will stay with the New York Knicks for the 2014 season

Carmelo Anthony is one of the best scorers in the NBA and he’s missing the playoffs for the first time in his 11 year career. He made an All-Star record eight three pointers in the All-Star game on February 16th 2014 in which the East defeated the West 163-155. Anthony came to the New York Knicks to win a championship, and things have been up and down since being there. When you’re in the spotlight, there’s a lot of pressure because the organization is going to expect a lot out of that particular athlete. Carmelo Anthony will become a free-agent in July, and many say that he will leave the New York Knicks.

Carmelo Anthony will stay with the New York Knicks for the 2014 season. Like I’ve already mentioned, he says he will become a free-agent in July, and many sports reporters and people believe the All-Star is going to jump ship and head to the Chicago Bulls. I don’t think that’s going to happen because Phil Jackson whom is a former basketball coach for the Chicago Bulls and the Los Angeles Lakers is now the president of the New York Knicks. Phil Jackson has 11 championship rings coaching the Chicago Bulls and the Lakers. Jackson knows what it takes to win an NBA title, and with Carmelo already trying to win one with the Knicks, Carmelo Anthony can learn from Phil Jackson so he can accomplish his goal.

It’d be cool to see Carmelo Anthony with the Chicago Bulls because of his ability to score, but I just don’t see him going to Chicago. Anthony has talent around him in New York, and his team just have to play better basketball. The Knicks have a championship caliber team. It takes time to accomplish a goal, but it’ll eventually happen if you believe and work hard at it. The Knicks president Phil Jackson will want Carmelo Anthony back in New York, and Jackson will show Carmelo what it takes to win a championship being in the spotlight in Madison Square Garden in New York.

T. Rex comes to Smithsonian Dinosaur Hall

On Tuesday, Paleontologists and curators unveiled parts of a nearly complete Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton, including its jaw with teeth at the National Museum of Natural History. T. Rex is joining the Smithsonian collection after a 2,000-mile journey from Montana. FedEx delivered the dinosaur bones in a special truck carrying 16 carefully packed crates that were kept at room temperature for the nearly four-day trip.

A large leg bone and the T. Rex teeth drew “ahs” as Museum Director Kirk Johnson told a crowd that the skeleton ranks as one of the top five T. Rex skeletons discovered because it’s about 85 percent complete.”It lay in the ground much as it had died on the shores of a stream in Montana just over 66 million years ago,” Johnson said.

The T. rex, discovered in 1988 on federal land in Montana. Kathy Wankel, a Montana rancher who discovered the bones in 1998 during a camping trip, said she was proud to see the specimen in a national museum. She spotted about 3 inches of bone sticking out of the ground, and she and her husband dug out a small arm bone. “We were so thrilled we had found a bone; we called that a mega find,” she said at the museum. “But I think now this is a mega find.”

Visitors can get their first look over the next six months as curators begin unpacking, examining and 3D scanning the skeleton. But it will take five years for the museum to overhaul its dinosaur hall, with the T. rex mounted as the centerpiece of a $48 million gallery devoted to the history of life on Earth. It’s slated to open in 2019.

“There’s so many things that have happened in science in the last 100 years that this will be a great new hall,”Johnson  said.

Marijuana Vending Machines are Now In Colorado

With the legalization of recreational marijuana in Colorado, all sorts of laws have come into effect as well as new ways to get it to residents. There was a special delivery of a vending machine to Montana’s Smokehouse in Avon, Colo. In it will not be the bubble gum and candy you usually find in most restaurant vending machines.

Instead, this one is distinctly Colorado.”The future is outside and we’re pretty excited about it,” said Stephen Shearin. His company, American Green, is delivering the “Zazz” in the state’s first marijuana edibles vending machine.”Many people could look at this and say that’s just a vending machine, and they’d be right, but mostly wrong,” Shearin said. That’s for sure. The machine will soon be stocked with goods from Herbal Elements from nearby Eagle-Vail, Colo. They will fill it some of their most popular productsBut just so you know, buying a pot brownie won’t be as easy as sticking in a few quarters for a Snickers bar. You will need a medical marijuana card and your ID will have to have been verified before you can get anything out.

For now, the machine is just on display to help get the word out.”Nothing will be sold out of the machine until we’re 100 percent confident that all rules are being followed, said Shearin. But these people are convinced they are about to revolutionize their industry with this green machine.”I don’t think we’ve dreamed what it can do yet, and that’s the whole point,” said Shearin. “You start with this and you start making your way into the future. I think this is a great starting point and we’re excited about it.”

Fincher and Affleck’s “Gone Girl” gets first trailer.

Acclaimed British director, David Fincher and Academy Award Winner, Ben Affleck have been working together on Gone Girl since September of last year and we can finally take a peek of what’s been cooking at the New Regency Pictures lot.

The 1:37-minute video hit the web early Monday and many successful uploads were quickly tried to be removed from YouTube by the peeps at New Regency, until an official version of the trailer is released by the studio.

Affleck portrays a man who finds out his wife has gone missing, his desperate journey towards finding her alive, or quite possibly his arrest for the murder. The dramatic trailer is intensified by the song choice and as it gets closer to the end you have no idea how it’s going to turn out… but you know if it’s Fincher, it’s gonna be good.

“I did not kill my wife. I am not a murderer.” is the closing line for the trailer as Nick Dunne relentlessly pleads his innocence. Gone Girl is based on the novel by the same title, written by Gillian Flynn, who is also responsible for the adaptation of the script for the film.

In other David Fincher news, it was confirmed that Fight Club director will not be working on Sony’s rendition of Steve Jobs biopic, “Jobs”. As reported by Variety Magazine, the film was on discussions as Fincher wanted to team up with Aaron Sorkin, (who had finished a script based on a bio written by Walter Isaacson) and producer Scott Rudin. They had both worked on The Social Network. But Fincher wasn’t all on-board for the project and was considering other productions, so he stepped down as director. Gone Girl comes out October 3rd, and after this serious trailer, critics say it has already started some buzz going for the 2015 Academy Awards.
