The UCF Debate Team is a nationally competitive policy debate team. The team has existed since the inception of the university and is proud to front teams to national circuit tournaments on a yearly basis. Students are welcome to join at the beginning of each semester. Information will be posted here when each semester gets closer as to when try-outs for the team will be held.
Students who compete on the UCF Debate Team write their own cases. Policy debate is a research-intensive format which leads to students working several hours a week on developing new case arguments. Students are expected to attend weekly practices and weekend work days. The team travels to three to four tournaments a semester and in the spring also travels to additional national tournaments.
The team is lead by Jeff Butler Director of Debate Seth Fendley. Seth’s office is in the Communication and Media Building on the downtown campus, room 171D. He can be emailed at firstname.lastname@example.org
