Kimberly Cowden (Ph.D. North Dakota State University) is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mass Communication and Center for New Media at Colorado State University-Pueblo. Cowden is applied action researcher specializing in public relations, crisis communication, health communication and ethical research methods when working with American Indian groups. In addition her scholarship, Cowden has over 20 years of industry experience, having owned and operated her own communication agency. Her research has been published in the Journal of Business Communication, Communication, Culture and Critique and her most current work is a chapter in Casing Risk and Crisis Communication.
