Emily Hamlin is a current Graduate student of the Nicholson School of Communication obtaining an M.A. in communication along the interpersonal track as well as a Graduate Certificate in Gender Studies. She also received a B.A. in Human Communication from UCF and aims to obtain a Ph.D. in communication and ultimately lead a career as a professor of communication.

The power of language: Examining Arrival through a narrative analysis.

This poster examines the film, Arrival using a narrative analysis to examine the hidden story behind the power of language. From this perspective, implications of powerful language in 2016, particularly language surrounding the 2016 presidential election, are addressed.
