Deborah Sacra is a Ph.D. student in Communication at Regent University. She earned her B.A. from University of Florida in Secondary Education (1985), and her M.Ed. in Reading Education from East Tennessee State University (1995). From 1995-2010, Ms. Sacra lived in Liberia, West Africa with her family, serving with the global Christian mission SIM, based in Charlotte, NC. In Liberia, she taught Language Arts and Social Studies in Liberian, mission and international schools and trained Liberian teachers in reading education and curriculum development. As the personnel coordinator for her organization, she designed cross-cultural orientation programs for newcomers. She currently supports SIM and its Liberia field in communications, while she is pursuing her degree.
