I do it admit, that when my digital media teacher asked the class to raise their hand if they didn’t know how to make an HTML, my hand went up. I am aware of how to do several creative things on my Mac, including make a song on Garageband or edit a film on iMovie, but if you were to ask me to make a webpage, I would stare at you in bewilderment. It’s just not something I have learned to do over the years. In my opinion, it is not a necessary task in my field of work as a film major. I need to know how to upload photos and video, and turn it into movie magic, but beyond that or checking my email and Facebook page, technology is not truly a great friend of mine. I am constantly yelling at my smart phone and laptop because it won’t do what I want, and I don’t know how to make it. I even discovered a new tablet on my dining room table that my brother owns, and couldn’t even figure out how to turn it on.
I may have been born in the generation of technology, but I am not adapted to it completely. Luckily, I am surrounded by a handful of people who can solve my problems. I have to turn to different people depending on the issue, and which technology of mine is broken since I have a PC phone and a Mac laptop. I actually have had an issue with my phone constantly telling me that I have no space left on it, and I have no idea how to fix it. Even yahoo answers can’t solve my problems. I will just have to live with the fact that I will be confused on that issue for a while because who has the time to read an instruction manual anyways.
