If you do not know the story of Jermaine Lamarr Cole by now, then you are truly missing out. Born in Germany, J. Cole and his mother moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina after his father left the family. Like many of us, J. Cole struggled to find his way in his early teen years. When he discovered music, however, he knew he found his calling. After begging his mom for a beat machine a whole year and finally getting it, a star was born. From that point on, he would make his own beats and produce his own music. In fact, he produced most of his recent album, Born Sinner.
Born Sinner is a darker album than the others. J. Cole raps about overcoming “selling your soul” to the music industry. He raps about staying faithful in his personal relationships and staying true to his sound and his fans.
His personal story of struggle, perseverance, and patience to get to where he is today serves as an inspiration for fans all over the world. Through his music, J. Cole raps about life, love, dreaming big, and never giving up. The name for his tour seems fitting when considering how he has fulfilled his dreams and continues to reach for the stars. Inspiration for the tour name came from a movie called What Dreams May Come. The movie also inspired ideas for the album.
J. Cole will be at the Hard Rock Café in Orlando on September 12th with Wale.
