Rick Santorum is finally out of the Presidential Campaign trail. Earlier this week, Mr. Santorum suspended his campaign. While Mr. Santorum is a very sincere and good hearted politician, he made the mistake of a rookie. He immersed himself and ventured into issues where politics really should not go. Issues of contraception and religion truly allowed the media to defile Mr. Santorum. The liberal media knew that Mr. Santorum is a devout catholic so they baited him with questions that he would answer in regards to his beliefs. Then the media moved in and painted him as an outrageous zealot. This is purely due to his actions. He should have responded to issues of contraception with “I wouldn’t know much about it, as you can see I have seven kids…”. And in regard to issues about religion, “There should be a strong separation of church and state…”. But alas, Romney is the stronger anti-Obama candidate so I am happy about Santorum’s withdraw from the campaign. This action obviously puts the ball in Mitt Romney’s court. Newt Gingrich is more or less completely out of money (he is evidently five million dollars in debt), and Ron Paul is not a serious contender. Ron Paul even knows this. He is in the race simply to get his points out and across, he doesn’t expect to become President. So these circumstances leave Mitt Romney as the only viable Republican candidate…shocking I know. We knew this from the beginning of course, that Romney was the inevitable nominee.
Now the real work begins for Mr. Romney, and we all ardently hope he is up for the challenge to defeat Obama! The election in November, as I have stressed in previous blogs many times, is the biggest and most important of our lifetime. The election will be won through the debates. Mr. Obama is a fairly good orator, so Mr. Romney has to come out swinging. He has to show the American people that he has not only the ideas and money, but also the vitality and raw extreme desire to change America and make it great. I think it will be a very close election. Romney has to be on point from the beginning, with no mistakes or missteps (which he is actually very good at because he is not a volatile person at all). Obama has a lot of tax payers’ dollars backing his campaign so Romney will have to fight hard!
