Biography

Dr. Andreas Schwarz is chair of the Public Relations & Communication of Technology Research Group at Ilmenau University of Technology in Germany. He is co-chair of the International Research Group on Crisis Communication since 2006. Schwarz was the founding chair of the Crisis Communication Section at the European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA). His research focusses public relations, risk and crisis communication, as well as cross-cultural communication research. The work of Andreas Schwarz was published in journals like Public Relations Review, the Journal of Public Relations Research, the International Journal of Strategic Communication, and Communications. Dr. Schwarz is co-editor of the Handbook of International Crisis Communication Research (with Matthew Seeger and Claudia Auer). He is frequently offering consulting and training for communication professionals in the fields of business, politics, security, media, and civil society.
