The International Crisis and Risk Communication Conference (ICRCC) connects the world’s leading communication experts, researchers, academics, and practitioners in an energized learning environment. Focusing on collaborative efforts, the ICRCC showcases developing crisis and risk communication trends while providing a very interactive networking conference experience.

The Nicholson School of Communication and Media (NSCM) will host the 12th annual ICRCC on March 7-9, 2022, in sunny Orlando, Florida. The ICRCC is the world’s only academic and professional conference of its kind. The conference attracts speakers and attendees from all over the globe including more than one hundred professionals, decision-makers, and scholars at this year’s conference. This is an opportunity to engage with crisis and risk communication thought leaders from across the globe.

Some previous conference presenters and attendees include, for example:

  • Michael Osterholm, Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy (Univ. of MN) & President Biden’s COVID-19 Advisory Board
  • Antonia Novello, US Surgeon General 1990-1993
  • Marsha Vanderford, World Health Organization (WHO)
  • Bryan Malenius, Advent Health
  • Paul Slovic, Decision Research
  • Donna Mirus Bates, Universal Parks and Resorts
  • Andrew Benson, International Food Information Council
  • Nancy Alvarez, Eyewitness News
  • Christine Huang, Chinese University of Hong Kong
  • Bengt Johansson, University of Gothenburg
  • Henrik Olinder, Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency

Our newest initiative is to expand the reach of this worldwide network of communication experts by creating an International Crisis and Risk Consortium. The consortium will meet regularly to discuss current issues rooted in risk and crisis and then create/share what we know not only at the conference, but also in venues that are likely to reach target audiences that could benefit from our discoveries (e.g., weekly blog broadcasts, monthly newsletters). We hope to make these resources free and easily accessible to working professionals around the world.

This conference and vision to build international consortium for risk and crisis communication would not be possible without valuable sponsors. Not only do we appreciate and value your support, we truly could not continue to host the event without it. In exchange for your support, we provide you an opportunity to reach students, faculty, alumni, world-renowned researchers, and leading professionals in corporate communication, public relations and marketing, emergency management, media, and journalism with your brand.  You may also choose to join us by attending the conference to interact directly with this diverse group of influential opinion leaders.

In addition to the various sponsorship opportunities listed on the flier, we are also open to unique ideas you may have for sponsoring this important event in other ways.  If you have questions or would like more information, please reach out at icrc@ucf.edu.

Thank you for supporting academic research professors and cutting edge professionals as we work together to examine issues of risk and crisis, as well as construct and implement communication best practices for mitigating harms and saving lives.
