In the last few years there has been a lot of interest in the problem of bullying all over the world, more especially in schools. Bullying is a huge problem that affects millions of students, and it has everyone worried about it and not just the kids on its receiving end. Bullying consists of three basic types of abuse physical, emotional, and verbal. Often time and time again, bullying takes place in the presence of a large group of relatively not involved bystanders. Children feel like they have more power, or can take advantage of other kids who are too meek or too small and can’t take matters in their own hands. This problem could be because violence has a major effect on what many youth of today are influenced on by the use of television, internet, and video games in today’s society. Bullying leads to children growing up feeling like they can’t be successful or live out their dreams because of their early establishment of fear at a younger age. A very wide range of people feel that the responsibilities and control of bullying rely solely at home with parents and family. It can be very hard sometimes for children to explain the effect of bullying because parents, teachers, and other adults don’t always see it. Also, they may not understand how extreme bullying can get. Bullying is a fact of modern society, however, knowing the psychological effects bullying can cause in everyday life, preventative measures to stop or reduce bullying should be taken.
