Google Taking Over the World isn’t Necessarily a Bad Thing

This is sad to admit but if one were to ask me to name my top five inventions of all time, Google would definitely be in that top five. I use Google so much one would think I have no idea how to function in life without consulting it. Any question that pops into my head immediately leads me to open the app on my phone and find the answer. Often times people ask me why I even have the Google app when I could easily go through safari and navigate there. The answer… that takes too long. I’m so consumed with Google that I need immediate and direct access to it. I can’t even imagine where I would be today without Google. The sad thing is, I am not the only person who depends on Google so heavily. Millions of people all over the world, consult Google without even thinking. You need help with your homework, need to find the name of a song, have some funky symptoms going on, or need to buy an outfit? All this can be done right within the confines of Google. The one thing that we are all guilty of is that the advent of Google has caused many of us to turn our critical thinking skills off completely. I can’t’ begin to tell how many times, I haven’t even considered contemplating a question without immediately saying “I don’t know Google It”. That used to be one of my biggest pet peeves when talking to my mom especially, but now I see that I am guilty of it as well. The mere fact that they are branching out into other markets only makes me that much more excited for what they have in store. In my eyes Google can do no wrong.
