It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

It’s March Madness season.

I will preface this article by saying that I know next to nothing about college basketball.

But, am I excited? Hell yes.

That’s the magic! The NCAA tournament is such that you can know absolutely zero about sports and still enjoy yourself.

I’m taking Butler over Bucknell. Where are either of those schools? Who cares!

Magic.

You can use any metric to grade teams chances of advancing, and there’s a great chance you’ll be correct. Sure, most experts actually watch the teams play beforehand, but where’s the fun in that? Each team plays like, thirty games. I’d much rather choose a winner based on which school I’d rather attend, or which has the most attractive cheerleaders (male or female, there is no judgement in March Madness).

For those lucky students and alumni whose institutions actually take part in post-season play, the excitement only increases.

Your alma mater sneaked in a 16 seed? Better hope those booster donations can afford a few more wins.

Why not pick them to win it all? They’ve already taken most of your money, the least they could do is repay you in athletic glory.

Regardless of who you root for, or if you root at all, enjoy this month and all the wonder in brings us.

A wall of televisions.

The most delicious of chicken wings.

A chance to care about Valparaiso for one month out of the year.
