The Kerouac house is a three day weekend seminar where talented writers can retreat while practicing and learning writing skills that will make them better and more confident writers.
The three day experience is met to inspire and tell the story of Jack Kerouac an author whose passion for writing brought him both joy and sadness. The retreat introduces authors in the area such as Darlyn Finch, the author of Red Wax Rose and Bob Kealing author of Kerouac in Florida: Where the Road Ends . The Jack Kerouac house provides an influential environment where people can learn how Jack Kerouac’s will to write and express himself made him an influential figure in society.

Kerouac lived in Orlando, Fl in College Park on Clouser Avenue in1957, in a house now known as the Kerouac house. The small blue house is where he wrote a book called the Dharma Bums as he waited for the release of his book On the Road. The release of this book gained the author immediate fame. The publishing of this book recognized Jack Kerouac as a majorAmerican writer. Kerouac’s excessive drinking ultimately took a toll on him costing him his life at the age of forty-seven. Even though, he died his beat style of writing will always be remembered and he is still veered as the ” king of the beat generation.”
