Newt and his friend Hypocrisy

I’m no stranger to political rhetoric and I will be the first to admit that yes, I sometimes fall into their traps. I can live with the corporate lobbying and the mudslinging. However, the one thing I have a complete distaste for is hypocrisy.

It’s seems many of these politicians will do and say almost anything  just to get elected.  The republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich is the poster-boy for saying one thing and doing another. While watching MSNBC the other night with Chris Matthews, the headline was a video about Newt and the journalist doing a news report on him some years ago while he was in office as the Speaker of the House. The video showcased how thoroughly hated Newt Gingrich was by a majority of the people in Congress during his time there and how he has a complete disregard for the rules and had to step down and pay a enormous fine due to an ethics violation. I had nothing else to do but ask myself, WHY WOULD ANYONE EVER VOTE HIM INTO THE PRESEIDENY??

On top of the political drama Newt has found himself in, theres also the personal past that anyone with a conscience wouldn’t be able to ignore. After being married three consectuative times, two of the women with whom were his mistresses, Newt Gingrich has the audacity to sit up on his pedestal and condemn the media for asking him questions about topics that will pay direct tribute to his character. He acts as though we as the public are not entitled to know about his personal life but he can go around and make the rules that will govern ours and he doesn’t have to abide by them.

Last but not least, while in office he preceded to begrudgingly voice his opinion about Bill Clinton and his well-publicized affair with Monica Lewinsky. He castigated him, while behind closed doors he was unfaithful on an even larger scale. Therefore, if Newt Gingrich is worried about getting voters he should start worrying that people will eventually see through all the smoke and mirrors and see him for who he really is. In my opinion, Newt Gingrich is the worst kind of politician, the one that is only out for himself and his own selfish needs. He could care less about the people looking to him for guidance because all he is concerned with is using his power for evil, not for good. I will rejoice the day Newt Gingrich drops outs of the 2012 Presidential race.
