DORAL, FL – World ranked no. 3 golfer Rory McIlroy looks poised to grab another PGA victory at the W.G.C. Cadillac Championship today. Rory has a 3 stroke lead going into the final round Sunday, and if history stays true, the odds are in his favor to win.
Six out of Nine times, McIlroy has held the lead after 54 holes and gone on to win. This bodes well for the Pro set to tie Nicklaus and Tiger Woods for another record. This time its accomplishing 12 pga tour wins per year by the age of 24. Impressive, for the man with questions surrounding him with the rise of names like Speith, Day, and Fowler this year. In addition, Adam Scott has made a surge in play as of late as well as Bubba Watson.
But its McIlroy who all eyes are on this Sunday. Trump National at Doral plays host to the WGC tournament, but nothing political is going on here with the Masters looming just around the corner.
Rory is hitting his stride, playing bogey-less after his round Saturday, and also shaping up his new putting stroke that is modeled the same as World No. 1 Jordan Speith’s stroke. This timing couldn’t be better considering Rory has won all Major Tournaments with the Masters being the only exception. Tune in to see the final round of the WGC Cadillac on the GOLF channel NBC to see in McIlroy’s return to form proves true.
