Politics: The Game of Ultimate Corruption

Mitt Romney is the most viable GOP candidate in the race, and has been from the beginning, the inevitable nominee. Everyone knows this as a fact. Each candidate has had their opportunity to “surge” if you will, but always dies out there after. In my Opinion, this is not by chance. This is media propaganda and politics at best. There was the Herman Cain train, with his brilliant “999” fiscal economic redemption plan. This ended abruptly when he was accused of sexual harassment and subsequently dropped out of the race. Then there was the Ron Paul surge, where the libertarian discussed how we as a country should not get into other countries business, and that we, the U.S., were the cause of the 9/11 terrorist attacks collectively…and that was the end of that. He is still gurgling a bit, ardently trying for not the nomination but rather simply to get his points across and create awareness for his cause and ideas. Then there is the concurrent resurgence of Newt Gingrich! He is endeavoring to be a revolutionary. His precocious talk about a colony on the moon by 2020, his ambitious “Day One Plan”, and his gumption to be fearless in his efforts, all make him the right candidate but unfortunately, Newt Gingrich will never be elected. The Newt train is already slowing, and the Mitt train is gaining momentum again with his rising poll numbers in Florida already. This makes me sad because with the predetermined and rather pigeon holing tactics that have allowed Romney to be the inevitable nominee; money, flip-flopping, people association, politics essentially, we will invariably miss out on the quality of an organic candidate. Politics have become such a game, a game of money, a game of power, and hence forth a game of ultimate corruption. We now live in a political atmosphere where pet projects and pay backs have become paramount. So much so that they supersede the importance of “For The People”.  Crony capitalism and corruption, ameliorated by our political system and the media, foster only selfishness on the part of our leaders. The broken system is what countenances the lack of quality. Can any candidate, regardless of party, rise above all of this and make a difference? Is this even possible in today’s society?  If so, that individual should be the inevitable nominee!   But all in all, any GOP candidate will be better than Obama…
