Bruce Beresford-Redman, former producer of the hit show Survivor, is awaiting trial for the murder of his wife. Beresford-Redman took his wife and youn children on a vacation to Cancun, Mexico in 2010. A week later, his wife’s body was found in a sweage drain. The family had taken this vacation as a hope to save the marriage between the two. Beresford-Redman had apparently been cheating on his wife and so they had hoped to resolve their problems in Mexico. Beresford-Redman and attornys had fought being tried in Mexico and had wished for a fair trial in the United States. The U.S. turned him over to Mexico State Police after State Department officials signed a warrent clearing his extradition. Beresford-Redman was arrested in Novemeber 2010 in Los Angeles afetr reportedly leaving Mexico without permission. His attornys argued that he had no liability to stay in Mexico and that he returned home in order to help care for his children. Mrs. Beresford-Redman’s family is finally relieved to see Mr. Beresford-Redman taken back to Mexico for trial because they want justice for their daughter and want to know the truth. After 15 months, Bersford-Redman was finally brought back to Mexico in handcuffs with a police convey. If convicted, he could face anywhere from 12 to 30 years imprisonment in Mexico. Beresford-Redman states he is innocent and that he wishes the Mexico court will give him a fair trial.
So far there is no hard evidence that Beresford-Redman murdered his wife. There was reported loud noises coming from the family’s hotel room the night before Mrs. Beresford-Redman went missing. The noises were described to sound like arguing and distressful yelling. Beresford-Redman claims the noises were of him and his children playing louds games throughout the night. The night before, Mrs. and Mr. Beresford-Redman were seen arguing by one of the security gaurds at the resort. When the body was found, there were multiple scratches on her body and there were signs of her being strangled.
