Marsha Vanderford

Marsha is a risk communication consultant, working for the World Health Organization (WHO) on COVID-19. She was previously WHO’s Director of Communication.  She has led WHO and US CDC in numerous emergency risk communication responses including Zika virus and H1N1. Marsha has conducted risk communication capacity building in countries around the globe.

Ben’s career as a risk communication practitioner started with the EU at the tail end of the BSE / “Mad Cow Disease” crisis in the early 2000s. He subsequently worked on SARS, “bird flu”, H1N1 influenza and Ebola for the EU, then pandemic preparedness, Zika, dengue and COVID-19 for WHO.
