Get the inside scoop on what happened at the 2015 VMA’S!

The 2015 VMA’s was hosted in Los Angeles, California on August 30. For those of you who missed this epic showdown… here’s the scoop!

First and foremost, this years host was none other than Miley Cyrus. This was her first time ever hosting at the VMA’s, her family was there cheering her on of course. She revealed her newest song titled “Do It” at the end of the show and announced the dropping of her newest album: “Miley Cyrus and her Dead Petz.”

Kicking off the show, was Nicki Minaj performing a duet with Taylor Swift- “The Night is Still Young” then breaking into Swift’s, “Bad Blood.” For those of you that don’t know the story behind these two… Well, the gist was a Twitter feud. Nicki tweeted: ” If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year” seeing as how Taylor Swift and Beyonce were the only other women nominated and Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” video showcased a group of slim women, Swift made an assumption and that’s how it all started. Conclusion: Taylor later apologized for making the assumption and Nicki/Swift killed it on stage together! Great job ladies.

Moving forward, some great performances by:

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis: “Downtown”

Nick Jonas: “Levels”

Demi Lovato: “Cool for the Summer”

The Weekend: “Can’t Feel my Face”

Justin Beiber: “Where Are U Now?” and “What Do You Mean?”

Pharell Williams: “Freedom”

Tori Kelly: “Should’ve Been Us”

Walk the Moon: “Shut Up & Dance”

Twenty One Pilots: “Heavy Dirty Soul”

And of course, let’s not forget Kanye West. I’m sure you’ve all heard but if not, here’s the scoop on Yeezy’s speech. Who can’t forget 2009 VMA’s when Kanye rushed the stage while Taylor Swift won the award shouting “Beyonce had one of the best music vids of all time.” Taylor Swift presented Kanye West with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. For those of you that are like What the heck is that? It’s pretty much MTV’s version of a lifetime achievement award; a musician who’s made an effect on the MTV culture.

Swift continued by saying “I have been a fan of his since I can remember because Kanye defines what it is to be a creative force in music, fashion, and well, life.” She then continued with I’m really happy for you and I’mma let you finish, but Kanye has had one of the greatest careers of all time!”

This was when Kanye came onto the stage and the crowd literally cheered without him saying a single word for about 2 entire minutes!! His speech and closing statement is something you’ll DEFINITELY want to see WATCH THE LINK BELOW!!!
