Has Technology Caused Us To Forget What It Means To Be Human?

The way we as humans interacted, once upon a time, was a face-to-face.

However, with each addition to the technological landscape we grow further and further away from socially interacting up close and personal.

Eye contact with the person you are speaking to has all but become obsolete. We have become an extension of mediums, instead of the other way around, which, in my opinion, is the cause of the social demise.

Moreover, technological advances, intended to improve life, has in fact ruined the very essence of life. That being human interaction, without the aid of machines.

One can only imagine what the world would be like if we returned to using our God given senses to communicate socially.

Change is good, and I am a huge advocate, but let us not change the things that make being a human great. One of those things is human interaction, real interaction, not a text, tweet, or poke.

Technology was never created to take the place of camaraderie among people. Technology was created as a tool to bridge the gap when face-to-face is not possible.

We have abandoned what it truly means to be human. We believe our technological wonders are a great substitute for the real thing.

Sure, we can type the words in our devices, but how can the person on the other end know we mean what we say? With that said, lets take time today to unplug and interact the good old fashioned way, face-to-face.

More importantly, lets remember to be human.
