Even though Cinco de Mayo is supposed to represent the Mexican Army’s victory over the French at the battle of Puebla in 1862, for some of us it’s also a good reason to wear our sombreros and tip back some Coronitas or margaritas.
Orlando offers us plenty of parties to join this Cinco de Mayo. Here is a short guide to the most popular events taking over the city:
- Wall St. Plaza’s Cinco de Mayo Dos Block Parties: This event will take place in Downtown Orlando’s Wall St. Plaza. There will be live music, drink special bull riding, piñatas, sombreros, mustaches, mariachi bands and all the tools necessary to party like it’s the last fiesta. The first event is on Saturday April 30th at 8 p.m. The second fiesta is on Thursday May 5th at 5 p.m.
- Rocco’s Tacos: With its already fun atmosphere, Rocco’s Tacos will be taking over Cinco de Mayo with its annual block party. One of the best things about this event is that offers admission at no cost to attendees. There will also be drinks specials, DJs, mariachi bands and delicious food all in a family-friendly environment. The event will run from Thursday May 5th at noon until 1 a.m.
- Bloodhound Brew: This event brings us its annual foam party as well as drink specials, DJs, prizes and a lot of foam. The event starts at on May 5th at 6 p.m. and will run until 2 a.m.
These count as good enough reasons to drink on a weekday, so put on you sombrero and get ready for the fiesta!
