Universal’s New Diagon Alley Addition Brings More Magic to the Harry Potter Attractions

On Thursday Universal announced the addition to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter adding Diagon Alley. The project is still under construction and is scheduled to open sometime this summer.

The project is to be a huge addition which will include a Hogwarts Express train, a ride based on Gringotts Wizarding Bank, a Leaky Cauldron restaurant, shops and much more.

There is, however, a catch to this new installment.  The new Hogwarts Express train will take visitors from Hogsmeade in Islands of Adventure to Diagon Alley in Universal Studios. To make this trip, park goers will have to purchase park-to-park tickets. The train ride itself is an iconic part of the books and films and you can bet that Harry Potter fans across the globe will be packing themselves in to experience the new magical adventure.

Familiar sights from the films such as the Leaky Cauldron will be seen and exploitable, but new surprises await guests. The installment of Knockturn Alley will show visitors the darker side of the wizarding world, featuring Borgin and Burkes, a shop known for selling mysterious items. Apparel such as Death Eater masks, skulls and other items can be purchased inside.

The shops will be selling new Harry Potter apparel as well such as Death Eaters’ masks, skulls, and other mysterious items.

For now we can only picture what we’ve seen from the films and wait eagerly to see more of the world many of us grew up with but could never explore. From the looks of things, it’ll be worth the wait.
