Arcade Fire Performs Songs From Upcoming Album on NBC

Arcade Fire appeared as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live and performed tracks from their upcoming album Reflektor. The band performed two tracks on SNL, the album’s title track Reflektor and the song Afterlife.

Not only did Arcade Fire appear on Saturday Night Live but the band aired a half-hour special event following SNL where they debuted three new tracks. The program featured the bands performance along with comedy routines and cameos by actors such as James Franco, Bill Hader, Michael Cera, Zach Galifinakis, Aziz Ansari, Ben Stiller, Rainn Wilson, Bono and more. Roman Coppola, known for directing music videos and working as a second unit or assistant director to Wes Anderson, directed the program.

The band has been raising hype for their album through this recent television event along with guerilla advertising campaigns (graffiti of the album’s “Reflektor” logo have been put up in cities around the United States and abroad) and a multimedia interactive music video for the album’s title track single, Reflektor.

Arcade Fire is an indie rock band that formed in 2001 in Montreal, Canada. The band has garnered critical acclaim for their albums Funeral (2004), Neon Bible (2007), and The Suburbs (2010). The band was awarded the Album of the Year at the 2011 Grammy Awards for their album The Suburbs. Reflektor will be the band’s fourth full-length album.

The new album is available for preorder and will be released on October 29 through the band’s label Merge records.
