This past Sunday night, the award season was kicked off with the Golden Globe Awards, celebrating T.V. and Cinema together. Every year at the Golden Globes, one person is honored with Cecil B. Demille Award and recognized for their achievements in film and/or television. On Sunday night, the 2014 honoree was Woody Allen, whose talents in writing, directing, and acting in over 70 films has made him the most in-demand and respected director in Hollywood. However, like in his past, Allen’s award was overshadowed by personal scandal. His estranged son, Ronan Farrow, went on to remind everyone of Allen’s past with this tweet:

“Missed the Woody Allen tribute – did they put the part where a woman publicly confirmed he molested her at age 7 before or after Annie Hall?”

Ronan was referring to his adopted sibling, Dylan, who at the age of 7, publicly spoke out about Allen’s sexual abuse towards her in 1992. Dylan has now changed her name, however, has spoken out and retold her story as a grown woman and till this day has said she is “afraid of Allen and his image.”

Mia Farrow and Woody Allen had a 12 year relationship and together had adopted many children and had their son Ronan, who has been suspected to actually being the son of Frank Sinatra and not Allen. Farrow left Allen in 1992 after it was brought to light his affair with her then 18 year old adoptive daughter from a previous marriage, Soon-Yi Previn. This detail along with the alleged child molestation, led Farrow and Allen to a dramatic court battle and a public feud that obviously still is going on today.

Now that the media storm is brewing, Allen has yet respond to Ronan Farrow’s tweet. However, with a hieghtened interest by the public,  more and more news sites have been republishing the 1992 scandals and overshadowing his big Golden Globe honor to an even more extent.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is being Expanded to Include Diagon Alley

On June 18, 2010 Islands of Adventures Orlando was changed forever when the doors to the long awaited Wizarding World of Harry Potter attraction had been opened. This new island featured many new attractions such as Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, Dragon Challenge, and Flight of the Hippogriff. Harry Potter fans now have something new to look forward to; Diagon Alley.

Diagon Alley is currently being built in Universal Studios. Much like in the Harry Potter movies park goers will be able to take the train from Diagon Alley all the way over to Hogsmeade if they have a pass allowing them to go back and forth between the two parks.

The expansion is expected to be finished in Summer of 2014. This new area of Universal will include many Harry Potter themed attractions including Gringotts Bank, The Leaky Cauldron, and an expanded Ollivander’s Wand Shop. One of the most anticipated coming attractions is the indoor coaster that will take muggles on a through a tour of Gringotts Bank. This ride will be similar to The Forbidden Journey, including both simulations and real life action.

One of the most exciting parts of this expansion is watching it happen week by week. Being such a large project it was difficult for Universal Studios to keep it secret for very long. Guests with year passes painstakingly gaze at the construction every visit hoping for just another glimpse of something new and unexpected. The construction on this project has already taken the buildings to heights of more then six stories high, and they are continuing to grow!

Wizards and muggles alike will just have to keep their Extendable Ears open for any new information circulating around the halls of Hogwarts concerning this exciting new addition.

Congressman Wants Congress to Sue Obama Over Legalization of Marijuana in Two States

Republican congressman Jim Gerlach has filed the bill HR 3857 to allow congress to sue President Obama if he does not have enforced laws concerning the legalization of marijuana in Colorado and Washington. Gerlach wants President Obama to duly-pass laws such as the Controlled Substance Act.

Gerlach is not thinking about the concept being demonstrated here properly. With the legalization of marijuana in both the states of Colorado and Washington, Gerlach has to realize that the sales taken place is under a controlled environment. Marijuana is being sold in shops just like if an individual goes to Wal-Mart to buy a bottle of wine or a 6-pack of beer. Marijuana is being treated like alcohol purchases. Every buyer must be 21 years of age to purchase their product at these shops.

Under his consideration, Gerlach must also know that the President is not the sole person behind these decisions relating to marijuana. Bills have to be passed through other departments in the White House, and citizens of that state have a major role in this decision process. After all, these individuals have to take part in signing the petition to legalize marijuana for that particular state.

Gerlach is wanting the bill he proposed to pass, so the GOP can express their feelings that expresses that Obama is failing to execute the Office of President of the United States. Jonathon Turley, a law professor from George Washington University influenced Gerlach, who feels that the President is putting harm to the Constitution, rather than giving benefits instead.

Obama is not harming the constitution at all, Gerlach and Turley are wrong.

FSU Seminoles Undefeated National Champs and UCF Knights Fiesta Bowl Champs….Great Year For Florida Football

This year may have been on of the best years EVER for college football in Florida. With U.C.F.’s nail biter to the finish with Baylor and F.S.U. have the biggest comeback in National Championship history; even if you’re not a fan of football, it was a spectacle to behold.

Even though we may lose Blake Bortles, our amazing junior quarterback, to the pro’s next year, we couldn’t have a team without him. He said in an interview after the game, “There’s not many outside of us who believed we had a chance, but we did and I think we showed what U.C.F. football is all about”. I think the whole student body would have to agree with him on that. We weren’t given much of a chance at all, entering the game as a 17-point underdog, but our record (12-1) proved to be all the evidence anyone needed. Coach O’ Leary, after the game, said “It’s a great win, a great feeling for everyone who’s been through the program”. Rannell Hall accounted for some of the biggest plays, catching four passes for 113 yards and two touchdowns.

The F.S.U. Seminoles, on the other hand, struggled for their first time all season in the last game of the season. In the most important game of the year, trailing by four with 79 seconds left, the Heisman Trophy winner, Jameis Winston, put together the drive of his short career, and the Seminoles proved they could take a beating and still win a championship. ”It was the best football game he’s played all year,” Fisher said, ”and I’ll tell you why, because for three quarters he was up and down and he fought.” This is F.S.U.’s third National Championship and second undefeated season. And I’ve been there for them all!

Reverse Racism, is it Reverse Psychology?

Has anybody ever heard of the term reverse racism? Probably not. It’s rarely used because the left wing liberal media doesn’t want you to think about how biased and ridiculous it sounds.

It is a term that continues to push people of color to the background of society. As if they are still victims of hate or the color of their skin. It separates us all as people. We are no longer equal, we are no longer just Americans, but we are a people divided by underlying words and tones that you don’t pick up on. Its driven into our sub-cautious via subliminal messages and brushed off conversations. Our children are brainwashed helplessly because it is taught in the very educational institutions we are supposed to trust. Universities around the country hold classes that our tax payer dollars finance.

Reverse Racism. The term is a cop out used by socialists and liberals to describe racism performed against a white person. It suggests that racism was any different based on the color of your skin. It’s not, but the term would suggest otherwise, as if it was not as bad to be racist to a white person because we “deserve it.” They, and I mean socialists and liberals, wont admit that this is what they were thinking when the term was being transcribed, but lets be real. Racism is racism regardless of the color of your skin, and it is the action that depicts the definition.

We are in a battle everyday for social equality, and reverse psychology is being cloaked over the black culture. To continue to think that racism only exists when it happens to a person of color is asinine. The liberals are holding unity hostage, and not only fueling racism but keeping the black culture in poverty. How does this term relate to poverty you ask? If the black culture continues to feel they are somehow different and deserve reparations because of the “real racism” that supposedly occurs every day, then people of color will continue to accept the government handouts both financially and psychologically. Racism will continue because the black culture has been told they are continuously being discriminated against. Case in point with affirmative action as it is applied to education and employment. Food stamps and section eight housing is predominantly black. Special home loan programs for people of color who do not have good enough credit. The black culture feels entitled to these things because the liberal government wants you to think this way. Liberals and socialists are keeping the black culture in poverty because if you think about it, why would you buy something you cannot afford? If something is given to you, do you take as good care of it as you would if you worked hard for the money to purchase it yourself? It’s reverse psychology. Wake up people!

This is not a racist post, although I’m sure many of you might read it that way. This is a cry for help, a cry to get you to think deeper. Reverse racism is not the only word, phrase, or underlying tone out there being used every day, there are many more. The question is, are you going to think outside the box and start to pick up on it? The word itself is a conundrum on its own, the very definition of Reverse Racism is in itself, racist.

Reverse racism, is merely racism. We are all equal, we all have hearts, a brain, and we are all created the same way. Think that way and we can all end racism.

Up to 110 Million Customers Their Data was Stolen at Target

Up to 110 million customers, their data was stolen at Target.

Womb Transplants: Ethical or Unethical?

While lung, kidney, heart and limb transplants seem to be accepted in today’s medical world why should wombs transplants be any different?

Some women face the difficulty of not being able to give birth because they are without a womb due to complications such as being born without one or having theirs removed because of cancer.

Nine women in Sweden have successfully undergone the transplant, however it is not possible to become pregnant naturally. The fallopian tubes are not connected to the womb so women have to have their eggs removed, frozen, and stored until after the transplant if they are seeking to bare biological children.

While adoption, insemination, and surrogacy are prevalent in today’s society, womb transplants may be the next “big thing”.

Bearing children and being a mother is something that the majority of women look forward to. Whether the woman goes about it in a certain way should be her and her partner’s choice. If a woman is willing to risk her health to try the procedure then it is ultimately her decision.

The procedure may seem unethical but why is a lung transplant or a kidney transplant looked at any differently?

It is true that one cannot live without lungs but it is possible to live without a kidney. Both serve a purpose just like the womb does.  It may seem unethical because it is such a new procedure and it may seem more taboo because of the function, but why?

Why do we as a society judge? Or care? If it is to serve a greater purpose for another and the act does not harm the donor why should this transplant be deemed unethical?

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, an honest review.

This past week I had the pleasure of seeing the second installment of the Anchorman series, and was pleasantly surprised after reading many unfavorable reviews about it. The movie plays on many of the same plot and comedic styles of the previous movie, except this time Ron Burgundy and his news team are faced with new challenges when becoming a part of a 24 hour news team in New York.

As a fan of the first movie, I found the sequel to be equally if not more hilarious than the original. There were a few moments that I thought were unnecessary, which is common place in comedic movies today; It seems everyone finds something in these types of movies that they do not like. With that said, it is still hard to believe that someone can watch Anchorman 2 and deem it as not funny. I found myself laughing throughout the majority of the film and would gladly go see it in theaters again. If you are a fan of the first Anchorman movie but hesitant to watch the sequel in fear of being disappointed, fret not, you will without a doubt enjoy the movie as much as the last maybe even more. If you are not a fan of the first Anchorman movie, you probably will not be a fan of the sequel because a lot of the same jokes occur but with a little twist.

To fans and movie goers alike, my recommendation is that Anchorman 2 is a must see comedic film and I know you will enjoy it. For those who are not fans of the series, I still say go; but go with an open mind, you might be surprised by how much you enjoy the movie.

Gov. Christie Under Investigation for Misuse of Hurricane Sandy Funds

After recently coming into the spotlight for a scandal that caused a week long traffic jam in Fort Lee, NJ, Governor Chris Christie is under fire once again.  A federal investigation has been started by the Department of Housing and Urban Development to see if Gov. Christie wrongfully used funds set aside for Hurricane Sandy relief.  The 25 million dollars in question was set aside for an advertising campaign to try to help the Jersey shore bounce back from Hurricane Sandy and try to drum up more tourism.  Critics of Christy are saying that he, instead of using the money to advertise his state, advertised himself, using the funds to boost his approval before his upcoming re-election race.  The investigation will look into the bidding process that took place before the ads were made.  The company that won the contract was a very politically connected company that agreed to make ads that would star Governor Christy, his wife and his children for a price of 4.1 million dollars.  This seems suspicious because other ad agencies were offering to make similar ad campaigns that would only cost 2.5 million dollars, but these campaigns did not feature Gov. Christy and his family as the stars.  That is the reason, Christie’s critics say, that the cheaper agencies were not chosen.  These allegations, along with the recent traffic fiasco, have marred Governor Christies reputation as a politician.  It will be interesting to find out how these scandals affect him when he runs for the presidential nomination in 2016.

It’s A New Year: Let the Resolutions Become A Revolution to the New You: Three Ways To Help Accomplish Your New Years Resolutions!

Every year people all over the nation celebrate the new year. They eat, they drink, and some of them don’t remember their last day of the year. But, starting on January 1, millions of Americans all over the nation start their day off right. Some have just one New Years resolution they come up with, others have as many as six or seven, but all in all, no matter how different the resolutions are, every years stats are still the same.

Fact: Within the first thirty days of the new years, almost 30% of Americans have already gone back to their old lifestyle habits.

Fact: Out of the billions of Americans living in this country, only 8% stick with their New Year resolutions.

Opinion: Stick by a few simple rules and you might be one of the ones to beat the odds of the 92% of the people that give up.

Just about everyone comes up with the biggest known New Years resolution that is so common to every American, losing weight and getting healthy for the New Year. Although it seems like an awesome opportunity for people to live a more healthy and clean lifestyle, not everyone follows through with it. In order to prevent from giving up so easily, this year, take a different approach to the same resolution you have been trying to never give up on in the past. Here are three simple ways to eat clean, workout more, and live a healthy, positive life!

Step 1. What diet? It isn’t going to be a diet, so don’t call it that. One of the major reasons why so many people give up eating healthy so early within the New Year is due to the fact that they use the word diet in such a confined, narrow way. Many people’s problem in not following through with their New Years resolution in eating healthy is that they live by the phrase, “all or nothing”. And while sometimes that could be a great outlook to certain things, it isn’t the best motto for eating clean. So many people start their New Year off by eating only vegetables and small portions. They think they can only eat 1,000 calories a day, and if they cheat then they have to just give up due to the “all or nothing” rule. Slip ups are going to happen, that isn’t your fault, its human! Instead of trying to eat little to nothing every day, come up with delicious, flavorful meals that are healthy for you. Wake up every morning and say to yourself, “today, I am going to do the best I possibly can”. By enabling yourself to think positively, you are more likely to have a more proactive and healthy start to your day.

Step 2. Climb your way to the top! Many reasons why so many people fail at their New Year resolution of getting healthy and working out more is that they burn out way too early in the game. As soon as it hits January 1, people are in the gym for two, three hours working out, doing cardio, lifting weights…lifting more weights, eating a snack, and then hopping on the treadmill for another 45 minutes. They think they are doing themselves a favor by busting it in their first workout of the year, but that is what happens to always be the problem. People wake up the next day not able to get up out of their bed from being so sore, they give up on working out for that day. That day turns into the next day, which turns into the next four months. By starting off easy and then working your way up to harder classes, and doing more cardio, your body’s endurance becomes so much stronger. So for step two, climb your way up the mountain, don’t tumble down it.

Step 3. Fall down three times, get up four! So many people fail at trying to eat healthy and get in better shape for their New Year’s resolution because if they fail at something, or cheat on their diet, they are afraid to bounce right back to eating healthy again. Everyone has a cheat day and everyone gives into the temptation of having that chocolate raspberry cheesecake, or that brownie sunday, or the “it’s Saturday, I just want to relax on my day off”. There is nothing wrong with that. But, learn to get right back on that horse when you fall down a couple of times. After eating something unhealthy, don’t worry about it, just pick right back up where you started. Eat the grilled salmon and asparagus for dinner. Make yourself an egg white omelet for breakfast, and best of all learn to never give up!

Once you start to see the improvements you were looking for, you’ll realize how much potential you truly have. You’ll look forward to sweating it out at the gym every morning. You’ll love how much more energy you have throughout the day. And most importantly, you can tell yourself that you were the one to never give up on that New Years resolution that just about everyone else did!
