Judge rejects dismissal of Chris Brown’s Washington assault case

R&B and Pop singer Chris Brown’s assault charge will stand as the judge rejects his lawyer’s request to drop the charge the afternoon of April 7th due to misconduct on the behalf of the prosecutors. Mark Geragos claimed that prosecutors abused the Grand Jury process to prepare for trial but Judge Patricia Wynn dismissed the claim. He says prosecutors used the grand jury to “freeze” the testimony of the alleged victim in the case. The singer and his bodyguard, Christopher Hollosy, are charged with hitting a man on the sidewalk in Washington, D.C, just blocks away from the White House.

The two allegedly punched 20-year-old Isaac Parker after he tried to get in a picture the singer was taking with two of the victim’s female friends. Parker suffered a fractured nose and injuries to his face and head. Although the charge is a misdemeanor and Chris Brown will unlikely face jail time, the singer remains behind bars because of his probation for an attack on ex-girlfriend Rihanna five years ago.

Judge Wynn concluded that prosecutors had the right to use the Grand Jury process to assess the strength of the case. “I am persuaded that there is no abuse”, Judge Wynn stated Monday after rejected the dismissal.

Chris Brown was originally ordered to stay in a court-mandated rehabilitation program but was turned over to the  U.S. Marshals at the LA County Jail after failing to stay in the program. The judge allowed him to stay out of jail by entering a 90-day anger management and drug rehab program. Although he completed that program last month, the judge ordered him to remain a resident at the Malibu, California, treatment facility until another hearing April 23. Leaving before April 23 led to his subsequent arrest.

Chris Brown must now be transported through the prison transportation system and he is still on his way from Los Angeles to the nation’s capital. This is a cross-country journey that the U.S. Marshal’s office said could take one or two weeks.

Four times more sex and blood. Game of Thrones is back. (No spoilers)

The fourth chapter of HBO’s medieval extravaganza premiered last Sunday night and it was awesome.

6.6 Million stoked fans tuned in last night to watch the season premiere of Game of Thrones, becoming the show’s episode with the most ratings ever. Over two million more viewers than season three premiere, AND the best numbers execs at the HBO headquarters had ever seen… since The Sopranos‘ Series Finale in 2007, of course. An encore presentation of the GOT episode later Sunday night brought home a full-night total of 8.2 Million viewers.

An “overwhelming demand” also took over the online HBO portal, HBO Go. Many subscribers reported getting a “fatal error” message on their screens- fatal indeed. Wasn’t long ago when the same thing happened during the streaming of True Detective‘s season finale, back in March. Another HBO show that broke a record was Mike Judge’s new comedy, Silicon Valley, it got 2 Million viewers. The best ratings for a half-hour show premiere since the premiere of Hung in 2009.

The fourth season of Game of Thrones was shot, as usual, in Northern Ireland, Iceland, and Croatia. Principal photography lasted 136, and it was completed by the end of November of last year. Author George R.R. Martin is allegedly still working on the 6th installment for “A Song of Ice and Fire” saga.

Game of Thrones airs every Sunday night on HBO and as we can all expect from Westeros this new season, there are only two things that are certain: no one is safe, and winter is coming.

My Experience with Watching The Game Of Thrones Television Show For The First Time

I believe this show is from the 12 or 1300’s. Let me start by saying that I thank God that I was not born in this era. Yes, the show was interesting but I would hate to have lived throughout everything they had to go through. The women are treated as objects and whores. They were good only to please men and make male babies. The men held all the say, there were kings and queens that dictated in ways that only maybe Hitler or Bin Laden could admire. There was so much killing every single day. Nobodies life was safe or worth much at all.

They killed in the most disgusting and cruel ways. It seemed like the jobs of some of the people were strictly to come up with creative ways of ending people’s lives. Slowly and very painfully. Brothers and sisters committing incest. Killing siblings for the throne, the whole nine. The reason I watched this show was because my best friend and his roommates are all obsessed with it now. Although I find some parts utterly despicable, the show is oddly catchy and entertaining.

To think that events like these actually happened at one point in time is rather heart aching but I presume that it’s good to be cultured on the times in our world’s history. It’s amazing to see how much we have grown through out the decades and to think of a world that is like the one that they portray in the show is hard to believe. You see movies that are from the medieval times often but thinking of having a life in an era that is in every way foreign to what we have now is a totally different perspective.

Teacher donates kidney to student she met once

Cindy Santos, a substitute teacher in Pennsylvania, has made headlines around the world after she donated one of kidneys to a student she met only once.

Cindy taught a kindergarten class one day and was told that one of her 5-year-old students required specific care. That student, Katelynn Ernst suffers from hemolytic uremic syndrome which required her to spend 10 hours each day bed-bound and on dialysis.

After hearing about Katelynn’s condition, Cindy found a support page on Facebook on which Katelynn’s parents had listed the initial requirements for donation. Upon discovering that she met these requirements, she signed herself up.

Just a few hours later, she received a phone call from the donor coordinator who informed her that there was only a one in 85 chance of being a successful match. But against the odds – she was a perfect match.

Undergoing the procedure in December of last year, both were able to return to their families for Christmas. The surgeries were successful and both have made a full recovery.

Cindy was reunited with Katelynn on Valentines Day of this year. And she commented on her Facebook page about how wonderful it was to see Katelynn able to live a full life and no longer needing to be bound to a dialysis machine.

Cindy also discussed the unexpected bonus of the surgery. During the testing doctors discovered that she had a rare medical condition called Pelvic Conjestive Syndrome. Having her kidney removed not only relieved her from the chronic pain she was suffering, but meant she also avoided certain surgery in the future.

Cindy said that she believes she was “put in Katelynn’s classroom that one day.. not by coincidence, but by divine alignment.”

Please Help Me Find Molly: The Medical Side Effects of Doing Drugs!

While the new fad for EDM music is becoming extremely popular, with EDM music comes the drug MDMA. Short for methylenedioxymethamphetamine, this name is nearly as long as the all-night parties where MDMA is used.  And while many people who take MDMA think that there are no side effects in taking this drug, any word as long as the one that stands for MDMA should never be put in someone’s body without knowing that there are extreme side effects when using this drug.

To start off, common slang words used for the term MDMA are names like “Ecstasy” and “Molly”. While these slang words probably have more drugs in them than just the pure substance of MDMA, a lot of people would be surprised to know what exactly is found in MDMA. When testing ingredients found in random supplies of MDMA, scientists would find drugs such as Heroine, methamphetamine, cocaine, and even horse tranquilizers. MDMA is a man-made drug that contains many different chemicals that are added in Ecstasy or Molly tablets. While makers can add absolutely anything and everything they want to the drug, many people taking these tablets think that its pure MDMA, when just about any Molly tablet you take will never be “pure”.

One tablet of MDMA lasts from anywhere between 4-8 hours. Once the pill is swallowed, it takes about 20 minutes for the drug to enter the bloodstream and reach the brain. Many different people will experience many different situations when taking this drug. Some include a loss of sense of time and experience changes in perception, such as enhanced sense of touch, anxiety and agitation, the sweats and chills or feeling dizzy and light headed.

Even if a person takes just one pull, the side effects of MDMA can last for several of days. MDMA can cause muscle tension, nausea, blurred vision, increased heart rate and blood pressure, forceful cleaning of the teeth, depression, anxiety, memory difficulties and other symptoms occur from using this drug.

So while going to festivals and clubs is fun, not everyone has to use drugs in order to have a good time. Now knowing the side effects of what this kind of drug can do to you, next time you decide to go out and have some fun, think before using MDMA, because one time of using this drug could possibly be your last!

Season Premiere of Game of Thrones Shows That season 4 Won’t Disappoint

After watching the first episode of the 4th season of Game of thrones, I was literally barely containing my thinking of where this season’s stories will end up. The first episode wasn’t as strong as the other first episodes of the new season, but it did it’s job of continuing to excite and keep interest in the show. It showed all of the main characters from before but it has introduced a new character which will be interesting. For those of you who haven’t seen the episode, the next few paragraphs are going to spoil what happens in the episode.

The first characters I will talk about is the Lannisters because the episode consisted mostly of them this episode. Jaime is back in the kings guard in King’s Landing and it feels as if everyone with the exception of Tyrion hates Jaime. Tywin as always reaffirms how much everyone who watches the show hates him and even more so with Geoffrey. Cersei is even more of an evil woman then i could possibly think and her acting is phenomenal. You start to sympathize with both Jaime and Tyrion because they are related to completely evil characters on the show.

John snow is being reprimanded for all that he is done in season 3 but due to the fact that there is an impending threat on their way. Aria continues to show fans why she is one of the favorite characters on the show when she kills someone who wronged her in her past. Sansa Stark is trying to get a grip on what’s happening with the death of her family. Mind you she has no idea that her sister aria and her brothers bran and rickon are still alive. The character I really want to talk about is known as the Red Viper of Dorn. Now he is very important to this season for two reasons. The first reason is that he hates the Lannisters which should prove interesting because he has been invited to Geoffrey’s wedding.  The second reason is that he has a vendetta for the guard of the Lanisters known as the mountain. With all of these character developments this season should prove to be one of the best ones.

iPhone 6: What does Apple Have Planned Next

It has come to that time of the year again when we all gather around our computers and search the vast internet for clues on what Apple has up their sleeve for the new year installment of their products. Fans and consumers are looking forward to the new iPhone 6 hoping that it has some of the features that some other phones on the market have already. It should be noted that no one will know what the product looks like until the keynote speech introducing these products and consumers are going to be glared to the internet to get a sneak peak of what is going to come out of a company who shook the world up from its simplicity less than a decade ago with the introduction of the iPhone.

From here, Apple has grown into a consistent powerhouse of excellence providing the customer with the ample products they need to be productive in this technologically advancing world.  Who knows what Apple has planned, but one can only wonder about the new iWatch and if it even exists at all. When we look at products that are doing well in the economy now, smart watches are sweeping the world with mixed reaction. Who knows if Apple is going to utilize this method or use a recently patented flexible material that would allow the phone to move and be shaped by its user without compromising any technology that lies beneath the screens the world fell in love with. All we can do is wait to see what they drop this year.

U.S Soccer Shockingly Fires Women’s Soccer Coach Tom Sermanni

After just 15 months on the job, U.S. Soccer surprisingly fired women’s coach Tom Sermanni after Sunday’s 2-0 win against China in Commerce City, Colo. The move comes seven months before qualifying begins for the 2015 World Cup, making the move alarming and leaves fans unsteady. Although, the US women’s team has a winning season, 18-2-4, it is still one of the worst seasons they’ve had in a long time. The nail in Sermanni’s coffin came at the Algarve cup last month. The US women’s team went 1-2-1 and ended up in seventh place, which is very uncharacteristic for the team. The coach also broke the team’s 43 game winning streak.

Sermanni made his debut in a 4-1 win over his native Scotland on Feb. 10, 2013. He spent the previous eight years coaching Australia’s women’s team, leading the Matildas to the quarterfinals of the last two World Cups.

“We felt that we needed to go in a different direction at this time,” USSF President Sunil Gulati said. He said the federation will begin looking for a new coach immediately, with the team looking toward qualifying for the 2015 Women’s World Cup. On Monday, a message on goalkeeper Hope Solo’s Twitter account addressed the firing: “It’s a somber day for us all today. Tom is simply a classy man in every way, and he will certainly be missed.” Jill Ellis, the USSF’s director of development, will serve as interim coach. She went 5-0-2 in that role in 2012. The women’s team faces China again on Thursday in San Diego. “I was completely blindsided,” Sermanni told SI.com on Sunday night. “Maybe I’m losing my intuitive and perception skills, but I didn’t sense a real unease in the team. But I could be wrong in that regard.” Sermanni said he assumes there was “some degree of dissatisfaction among the players, otherwise we wouldn’t have gotten to this point so quickly now.” He added that the players did what he asked and he has “no qualms with them in the sense of having poor relations with them.” He was hired in October 2012, but Ellis served as interim coach until he took over that January.

Robonaut: The Robot That Will Change The World

Technology is without a doubt changing the world. Some may argue for the better and some my say for the worse.

As times change and our society relies more and more on technology, older generations claim that technology might take away from what truly matters in the world: relations.

However, newer generations are thrilled with new technology, which makes life simpler by the click of a button. Communication is almost instantaneous and news travels faster around the world.

New technology has advanced wars, discovery, and medicine.

The introduction of NASA’s Robonaut to the International Space Station in 2011 has proven that technology is further evolving to take the place of humans.

The robot hasn’t done much in space but is being trained in telemedicine by a doctor at the Houston Methodist Hospital.

While the robot only monitored air flow from vents in the ISS, Robonaut is being taught to perform advanced tasks such as endovascular surgery.

The robot is controlled by humans at NASA’s Mission Control at the Johnson Space Center in Houston. Although there is a problem with lag between command and response, the robots are supposed to eliminate the presence of human dependency.

This brings up the question of whether or not technology is going to fully replace human jobs.

People do still play a major role in developing the technology and manufacturing it. The robots still have to be trained and taught simple tasks.

However, will Robonaut be the beginning of something humans have always dreaded: The thought of technology taking over?

2014 NBA Playoffs Preview and Prediction for a champion

Well the 2013-2014 NBA regular season is coming to a close, and with only a handful of games left for each basketball team it’s time to start looking ahead at the playoff picture and possibilities that could happen. Starting with the Eastern conference, the whole season it was viewed as a weak conference due to its lack of teams that are viewed as contenders for a championship. Aside from the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers, the rest of the Eastern conference has been inconsistent and sub-par in their play this season. However, I wouldn’t count out certain teams to be able to knock off one of the top 2 in the East. Look out for the team oriented Chicago Bulls or the hot and healing Brooklyn Nets to possibly challenge the Heat and Pacers down the stretch.

For the Western conference, the stronger of the two, it has shown that there are numerous contenders that may win the championship this year. Such teams include the San Antonio Spurs, Oklahoma City Thunder, Los Angeles Clippers, and Houston Rockets. With Golden State Warriors and Portland Trailblazers also in the mix, it provides an interesting road to the Finals from the Western conference, where every team will be hard to knock out.

Ultimately though, I think the way the playoffs will take shape is the conference championships being the way everyone can vision, with the Heat playing the Pacers and the Spurs playing the Thunder. I can see a rematch of last year’s finals but this time the Spurs are able to close out the Heat in 6 games.
