I’m in. Events and BASE Camp Children’s Cancer Foundation are gearing up to host more than 800 guests at the annual Black and White Weekend on May 11 and 12, 2018. Heissam “I’m in” Jebailey, CEO and founder of I’m in. Events, first envisioned Black and White Weekend when a case of pneumonia almost claimed his life. Prior to a life-saving surgery, he thought of an event for family and friends while giving back to the community.
“It was the most trying time in my life,” said Jebailey, who graduated from UCF in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in advertising and public relations. “Ever since then, I wanted to host an event so big that anyone could come to forget about their daily problems and stresses while having fun. It took me until 2010 to get it started, but now the true story behind it is being told.”
The event will span one day and two nights at the Rosen Plaza to celebrate life and a great cause while promoting wellness. Jebailey, who is also a member of the Nicholson School of Communication‘s Advisory Board, has partnered with BASE Camp Children’s Cancer Foundation for the event, which has a “cirque” theme this year. BASE Camp provides a year-round base of support for children and families who are facing the challenge of living with cancer and other life-threatening hematological illnesses.
“BASE Camp depends on community partners to help raise awareness and much-needed funds to continue our ongoing programs,” said Terri Jones- Robbins, who is president of BASE Camp. “The Annual Black and White Weekend provides vital support and we are truly honored to continuously be selected for such a meaningful and prominent event.”
The ninth annual Black and White Weekend for Charity and Wellness will begin at 8:30 p.m. on May 11, and conclude May 12, 2018. Advance tickets are only $45 and provide access to the entire weekend, which will include food and drink specials, music, ongoing entertainment, parking, donations and more. Door admission, if available, will be $60.
Anyone at least 21 years old who likes to have a good time, meet new people, dance and support such a cause is welcome to experience this one-of-a-kind event. Sponsorships are also available upon request. For tickets, hotel accommodations and more information, please visit BlackandWhiteWeekend.com
