UCF Debate

The UCF Debate Team is a nationally competitive policy debate team. The team has existed since the inception of the university and is proud to front teams to national circuit tournaments on a yearly basis. Students are welcome to join at the beginning of each semester. Information will be posted here when each semester gets closer as to when try-outs for the team will be held.

Team Expectations

Students who compete on the UCF Debate Team write their own cases. Policy debate is a research-intensive format which leads to students working several hours a week on developing new case arguments. Students are expected to attend weekly practices and weekend work days. The team travels to three to four tournaments a semester and in the spring also travels to additional national tournaments.
