Biography

Alex Korp has been a filmmaker for over 25 years. He attended Florida State University, graduating with his MFA in Film in 1996. After film school, he turned his focus to the production arm of the film business. As an Assistant Director, he would eventually work on over 100 film, television, and commercial sets, including the Oscar winning Boys Don’t Cry in 1998. Notable filmmakers he has worked with include Hilary Swank, Matt Damon, Billy Bob Thornton, Laura Dern, Robert Altman, and Gregg Araki. He has worked on films in a dozen states and Europe.

Alex was born and raised in Sarasota, Florida. Subsequently, he has lived and worked in the entertainment industry in Washington, DC; Tallahassee, Florida; Austin, Texas; Los Angeles, California; and Orlando, Florida. After being an adjunct lecturer at Valencia College for several years, he joined the University of Central Florida in the Fall of 2023.
