Quotes, the Ad/PR club at UCF, is enthusiastic to highlight the success of the Intern Pursuit event held on March 5th, 2025, which connected students with the top employers and invaluable career opportunities. Intern Pursuit is an internship fair hosted biannually by Quotes and held in UCF’s Pegasus Ballroom on the first floor of Student Union. The event offers an unparalleled opportunity for students across a wide variety of communication disciplines to meet and interact with a large pool of potential internship employers.

Senior Instructor and Ad/PR Program Coordinator, Lindsay Hudock, shared the results of the efforts that she and the Quotes Club members have accomplished over the past two months:

UCF hosted 71 employers who were offering internship experiences in all manner of communication, advertising, public relations, film, marketing, social media, graphic design, videography, copywriting, and event management. In bringing these employers together under one roof, we were able to provide a critical service to 328 students from 24 degree programs across 5 different colleges within the university. The event even drew students from Valencia and FGCU. This attendance represents a number of notable things:

  • The largest (and farthest reaching) student attendance in Intern Pursuit history (a 28% increase over the last Intern Pursuit).
  • The largest employer registration count since COVID (a 37% increase over the last Intern Pursuit).

Also notable this year is the incredible social media content the students created to drive engagement in the event. After looking at research on current content trends, we launched a video-driven social media campaign that achieved 146,000 total views and 4,000 interactions from engaged audiences across platforms.

Hudock also mentioned all of the planning and hard work involved in the event. Preparing students for Intern Pursuit is a month-long endeavor that involves 3 events leading up to Intern Pursuit:

  • Rockin Resume – where Gary LaPage walks students through how to build a strong resume.
  • Resume Round Table– where we bring in professionals and faculty to review resumes one-on-one and give students feedback.
  • Intern Pursuit Bootcamp – where we host a panel of professionals who give advice on what to wear, what questions to ask, and how to find the opportunity that’s right for you.

Hudock is proud of her students’ efforts and commitment to such a successful Intern Pursuit. “The students who make this event possible are volunteering a tremendous amount of time and talent to create opportunities for peers they may never even meet. That is incredible leadership. And the professionalism they demonstrate in the process is second to none. I’m incredibly proud of their efforts and the tremendous impact it has on both the student and professional communities,” said Hudock.
