Student Media Organizations

  • NSM Today
    NSCM Today is an online news publication operated by the journalism majors. Content is created, edited and published by students in the “Senior Capstone in Journalism: Digital News Service” (JOU 4950) class under the guidance of a faculty advisor.
  • Centric
    Centric is a student-produced magazine in the Nicholson School of Communication and Media. The mission of the magazine is to bring the community together and embrace the unique, ever-changing spirit of the school.
  • Knightly News
    Knightly News, a division of the NSCM Media Production and Management program, is a weekly campus television newscast. Daily newsgathering and production decisions are conducted by students in the broadcast journalism major under the advisement of an instructor functioning as news director.
  • RSO Her Campus
    Her Campus is an online Gen Z magazine covering UCF life, news, pop culture, and wellness. Students write for the online magazine, organize and participate in branding events and collaborations, and host professional development events.

Forensics

  • UCF Debate
    The Debate Team competes in CEDA/NDT style debate and is a member of CEDA and ADA. The team also helps promote high school debate in Central Florida.
  • UCF Speech
    As a co-curricular activity the team competes in intercollegiate forensics tournaments in a multitude of categories including, but not limited to, poetry interpretation, dramatic duo, persuasive speech and impromptu speech.

  • National Association of Black Journalism
    The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) is an organization of journalists, students and media-related professionals that provides quality programs and services to and advocates on behalf of black journalists worldwide.
  • National Broadcasting Society
    The National Broadcasting Society-Alpha Epsilon Rho enhances the development of college students preparing for careers in electronic media industries. NBS-AERho connects students with practicing professionals; emphasizes industry ethics, diversity, and inclusiveness; and promotes opportunities for excellence in leadership, community service, and production.*
  • National Communication Association
    The National Communication Association is a not-for-profit membership-based scholarly society that that studies all forms, modes, media, and consequences of communication through humanistic, social scientific and aesthetic inquiry.
  • Quotes
    Quotes, the PR Club at UCF, is a student chapters of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA). Its main goal is to cultivate the development of future industry professionals who will lead in the field of communication.
  • Radio Television Digital News Association
    RTDNA focuses on helping students better prepare for the broadcast news industry. Students from all majors are invited to attend.
  • Society of Professional Journalists at UCF
    The Society of Professional Journalists at UCF aims to help its members become better journalists by connecting young reporters to media outlets through central Florida and teaching skills to students through guest speakers and workshops.
  • Design and Code
    Our philosophy is that through the collaborative learning and hands-on education provided by our officers and web professionals, the organization’s members can achieve greater knowledge of existing and future web technologies in order to better prepare themselves for our modern-day industry.
  • Game Dev Knights
    An open group for all artists, programmers and designers to collaborate on various projects with other UCF students interested in making video games.
  • Gaming Knights
    The Gaming Knights is a student run organization whose primary goal is to bring students together through gaming environments. We host multiple events year round on campus with LAN parties reaching more than 80 people. Not limiting genres or platforms, we are open to every gamer out there! The club is the result of the Console Knights and LANKnights at UCF merging in efforts to bring out a greater effort among the student body.
