Sports Anchor & Multiplatform Content Associate at NBCUniversal – Telemundo 31 Farah Paret gave a presentation to students in RTV 4503 Sports Programming class last month. With a passion for storytelling and a deep knowledge of the sports industry, Farah has built a successful career covering some of the most exciting moments in sports.
Sports Programming Instructor, Eric Adelson mentions that “after visiting NBCU Academy and hearing Farah speak, some of the students wanted to hear more from her. So, I invited her to join us and share her story and advice.”
During her visit, Paret provided insight into the world of sports broadcasting, from breaking into the industry to delivering engaging and profound coverage. Adelson also discussed why the UCF and Telemundo Academy partnership is important for the future of NSCM. “As a Hispanic Serving Institution, UCF thrives on relationships with outlets like Telemundo. There are certain perspectives that I cannot share or convey as a professor, so I seek out experts like Farah to help me teach.”
This was a fantastic opportunity to learn from a seasoned professional, ask questions, and gain inspiration from her experiences. “Many of my students want to go into broadcasting, so Farah’s journey and acumen really help paint a picture of what a career could be like for them,” said Adelson.
