How to make the most amazing baked ziti you will ever eat.

I’m not really one for cheesy blog posts, but this baked ziti dish is so amazing, someone had to write about it. Whether you’re trying to make dinner for one of your saucy tinder dates or eating all alone while binge watching your favorite TV show, you won’t regret your decision to make the Italian-American dish.

It all starts off with a trip to the grocery store. You will have to pick up a 16oz package of ricotta cheese, a 2 cup package of mozzarella cheese, a 2 cup package of Italian blend cheese, 2 jars of the red sauce of your choice, 1 16oz package of penne noodles, some basil, oregano, salt, and pepper.

  1. Start by boiling the noodles using the directions on the box.
  2. Mix the ricotta cheese with half a jar of the sauce, 1 tablespoon of basil, and 1 tablespoon of oregano along with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Once the noodles are done boiling, drain them and mix them in with the ricotta sauce you just made.
  4. Pour the other half of the jar of sauce into the pan you will use to bake the dish. Spread it evenly.
  5. Pour half the noodle mixture into the baking pan on top of the sauce. Then, sprinkle half the mozzarella and half the Italian blend cheese onto the layer of noodles.
  6. Pour half of the second jar of sauce onto the layer.
  7. Repeat steps 5 and 6.
  8. Bake covered at 350 for 25 minutes, then uncovered for 5 minutes.

That’s it. You now hold all of the secrets to create the most amazing baked ziti you will ever eat.

12 Days Later, Still No Sign of Missing King Cobra

For over 12 days, an escaped king cobra has terrorized the citizens of Apopka.  On September 1st, an 8 foot long venomous king cobra escaped from its cage at a house off  North Apopka Vineland Rd.  The owner of the snake is Mike Kennedy.  Kennedy is an exotic animal dealer and star of a Discovery Channel reality show called “Aiplane Repo”.  He is licensed and bonded to carry various exotic animals.  Attempts to find the snake have been unsuccessful and it has taken an effect on the neighboring citizens.  Nearby Clarcona Elementary School temporarily moved outdoor recess activities inside to avoid a possible encounter with the elusive serpent.  Classes normally held in outdoor portables were also briefly held in the main building just as a precaution.

Some local citizens have begun to voice their opinions about the animal.  Local resident James McLeod says, “I’m going to go load my guns. Well, they’re already loaded, but I’m going to have them ready for sure. I mean, that thing’s big enough to take you down for sure.”

Many children are no longer allowed out alone and some residents have expressed concerns about walking their dogs.

“Having to change the routine, the kid can’t walk the dog.  I don’t walk the dog alone just because it’s scary. It’s so dark out in here.  We’re locking up the house, keeping the garage down.” said Kara Kirtz.

The number of workers involved in the search for the snake has been scaled back and the most promising hope lies in the traps that have been set around the area in which the animal is thought to be.  The traps are baited with dead snakes.  It is very similar to the method of feeding it was accustomed to while in captivity.  Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation officials believe this method will be affective.  The city of Apopka really hopes so.

Four Tips To Stay On Top Of School This Semester and Excel

Weather it’s your freshman year or senior year of college, it’s possible to get overwhelmed and maybe even lost in school. We tend to lose focus if we have a long weekend with friends, going home for the weekend, or any other reason not to think of schoolwork for a couple of days. By the time you realize that you have certain assignments, a million things could be due all on the same date. Now, that can be extremely devastating. In order to prevent that, just follow these four tips to stay on track and go through the semester worry free.

Plan, Plan, and Do Some More Planning: The easiest way is by getting an agenda or a planner and writing all your important due dates in. Set a specific color for each of your classes so you know what will be due by just looking at the highlighted color. Also, make a list and prioritize what to do by how important and assignment are and its due date every Sunday before the gaining of each week. The same goes for studying for exams and projects.

Fuel Yourself: Make sure you get enough sleep at night. A lack of sleep can cause you to lose focus on lectures and fall asleep. You also need to keep your to keep your metabolism active by eating something small every 3 hours or so. It’s awful to go a whole day without eating if your stuck on campus.

Support System/ Motivators: Having a close friend is a great thing to have, but having a motivator is even better. Setting aside a couple hours a week to go to the library or a study room can really help you stay on top of everything. And by having a friend with you, you both will be able to motivate each other to excel.

Ask For Help: Don’t be afraid to ask for help! It might be hard to ask for help from a professor if there are 300 or more students in a class, but that what Teachers Assistants are for. They’re there to help the professor. Additionally, there are study groups and tutoring provided on campus if you feel a TA won’t be able to help. If your in a smaller class then it’ll be much easier for you to be able to go right up to your professor and ask for help.

Denver DJ files lawsuit against Taylor Swift, after bum touching incident

Singer Taylor Swift seems to always be in the tabloids for steering up some kind of drama, the most recent scandal is action taken against her for what one man finds as wrongful termination.

During an after party at Taylor Swift’s concert in Denver, Colorado. A man was escorted out because he inappropriately grazed Taylor Swift’s bum. The man claims that it wasn’t him but a colleague that is responsible for this harassment. The report that was filed said that the DJ David Mueller while taking a picture with Swift, lifted up her skirt and grabbed her bum. That honestly disgust me, she just performed and out of the kindness of her heart invites people backstage to meet her and she invited this radio station that he works at to the event and then he goes and sexual harasses her, not cool! Critics of Swift are saying that she is taking this way out of proportion, that it happens to males in her field all the time. Just because it happens often doesn’t mean that it is okay, a lot of things happen all the time but that doesn’t make them okay.

Now back to the DJ, he was terminated afterwards by his bosses at the Denver radio station and he wants to recover his lost income. I think that if he was wrongfully terminated and he didn’t actually commit this act then yes he should be fairly compensated for the lost income but if he did in fact grope Swift then he shouldn’t receive a penny for sexual harassing someone. I think that this is a case that is going to be hard to prove either way, because in the picture taken her skirt wasn’t lifted and there is no one coming forward to say that they either saw or didn’t see the incident take place. It is simply one word against the other.

Religious aspect of Clinton campaign; “be nicer to the press”

On Sunday, September 13 the Clinton family celebrated at the Foundry United Methodist Church in Washington. Clinton spoke to the assembly stated, she had spoke to a former pastor, Phil Wogaman, who ministered to her family and he advised her that “if you’re going to read and listen to Romans 12, you’ve got to be nicer to the press”.

Romans 12 reads, “Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.”

Clinton, rarely addresses her faith but spoke about the importance of putting God’s words into action.

“The truth is there are so many people in this community, in our country, in our world who have so much to offer. Talent is universal, but opportunity is not. Too many people are held back by economic pressure and social barriers,” she said. “There are still hard truths to face about race, gender and sexual orientation in America.”

Clinton used her address to further emphasize some of her political points in her campaign.

Clinton ended with a hopeful remark, “here we were not the first family, we were our family. And we relished and cherished that time.”

Hilarious Vampire Mock Doc ‘What We Do in the Shadows’

The cast of What We Do in the Shadows: Jemaine Clement, Taika Waititi, Jonny Brugh, and Ben Fransham.

Imagine Count Orlok, Dracula, Lestat, and Edward Cullen inhabiting an apartment together while the crew of The Real World records their daily lives. If you can wrap your mind around that concept, what you have is the film What We Do in the Shadows, which was recently released in America on DVD and blu-ray.

Granted, that’s over simplifying things a bit. Though the premise may sound inane to the point of absurdity, What We Do in the Shadows is an unequivocally hilarious mash-up of horror and comedy. The New Zealand produced mockumentary follows Viago, Vladislav, Deacon, and Petyr in the time leading up to a special event called the Unholy Masquerade. Ranging in age from 183 years old to over 8,000, these vampire roommates spend most nights attempting to get invited into clubs filled with would-be victims. Dated and out of touch, their new convert Nick brings the 21st century into their home, along with a rebellious attitude… and maybe a vampire hunter.

While What We Do in the Shadows has a relatively sparse plot, the loveable cast of ensemble characters effectively drives the film. Their interactions show great chemistry as the actors easily play off one another. Despite being undead vampires you’re immediately on these characters sides due to their ironically endearing human qualities. They struggle with their love lives, suffer loss, and discover new experiences.

In one scene the roommates quarrel over whose turn it is to do the dishes. Yet these normal arguments are punctuated with floating bouts of hissing or occasions where they turn into bats and physically fight one another. The contrast of the bizarre, supernatural subject matter presented with uniform, seemingly real production values adds to the comedy. It’s shot in a similar fashion to the popular television series The Office, with talking head segments between select moments in the story.

While vampires may seem played out and overtired right now, this flick is one that you absolutely have to give a chance. What We Do in the Shadows is the best mockumentary in recent years and one of the funniest films I’ve seen as of late.

UCF loses to Stanford in Last Nights Football Game 31-7

The UCF Knights are now standing at 0-2 after last nights loss to Stanford University. After UCF’s loss to FIU just a couple weeks ago, the loss against Stanford turned the players; spirits down.

In one of the first plays of the game, star junior quarterback Justin Holman was injured. He hit his hand on the helmet of an opposing player when he was hit. The specifics of his hand injury are unclear, but the player is in a split. It hasn’t been determined if he will be able to play in the next game on September 19th.

With Holman out of the game, the coach was forced to put in a true freshman  to replace him, Bo Schneider, who completed 7 out of 19 passes. He was then replaced by Tyler Harris with nine minutes left on the clock who completed 7 out of 15 passes.

Apart from the injury, UCF had other challenges to handle as well. Two players did not go to the game at Sanford. One player still recovering from an injury from the game against FIU and another who was suspended. Even with he set backs from last nights game, UCF did see some improvement in their play. They plan to watch film and critically evaluate the right and wrongs of the game and come back stronger for the next game against Furman.

Beckham to build stadium for his brand new MLS team on old Orange Bowl site.

The ground where Orange Bowl once stood, before being demolished in 2008, will serve as home base for David Beckham’s new MLS team.

The British ex soccer player is in the middle of final negotiations with the Major League Soccer of America, according to Don Garber, commissioner of the league. “We are as confident as we have ever been that we can move this forward, […] He has been trying very hard to get a stadium built. There has been a lot more progress lately than in the last 12 to 15 months. We have to finalize a whole bunch of deals with the city and the landowners but the site has been selected,” said Garber. Beckham received the rights to own a MLS team as part of his deal with the League when he signed to be part of the LA Galaxy in 2007.

Beckham is working on this deal with the Mayor of Miami, Tomas Regalado, and with his business partner, Sprint CEO, Marcelo Claure. The stadium location is set to be adjacent to the Marlins Stadium.

In terms of players, the Daily Star reported that Beckham has an eye on Wayne Rooney, who currently plays for the Manchester United, to be his frontman. Although Don Garber wouldn’t discuss the issue much further, given Rooney’s contract with the Manchester team, he did mention his friendship with the Glazer family which would facilitate the transition.

Beckham, who is now 40 years old and retired from soccer in 2013, is said to make an announcement about the construction of the stadium towards the end of the year.

Refugees From Syria Make a Desperate Hopeful Journey. Thousands arrived in Germany.

Syrian humanitarian crisis finally unfolds. After all the trial and tribulations Syrian refugees finally made it to Germany. Seeking for asylum, over twenty thousand people have arrived to Germany and in the near future the country expects around ten thousand more. Germany stated that they are going to take all those who come regardless of how they got there with open arms and will receive their asylum claims assets immediately. Germany welcomed the refugees with essentials like water and food; moreover, several months from now the country expects around eighty hundred thousand refuges more; therefore, Germany has allocated over 6.5 billion dollars for lodging, benefit payments, and language courses. France has also gotten in the action announcing they will take twenty-four thousand refugees. Syrians have been fleeing to other countries like Lebanon, Jordan, and Turkey for survival since 2011 due to the unfortunate civil war they are facing. Cities have been bombed and chemical weapons have been used; however, we NOW hear about this devastating situation in the states because refugees have reached Europe. The flood of refugees does not show sign of stopping and other European countries like the United Kingdom and Italy are expected to get involved to help the Syrian population of refugees as well; furthermore, not only European countries are expected to help, South American countries and the United States have recently spoke out about helping out and accepting a significant amount of Syrian refugees too.   It is saddening to hear about this Middle Eastern crisis because it shows no sign of stopping, yet it is refreshing to know that a significant amount of countries have stepped to help Syrians out even when they did not have to.

Crane Collapses in Mecca – 107 People Killed

On September 11, 2015, two weeks before the beginning of the Hajj pilgrimage, a crane crashed through the roof of the Grand Mosque of Mecca and killed at least 107 of the worshippers inside. Additionally, around 238 people were injured. Though speculation places the blame on the recent heavy winds and rain as the cause, Saudi Arabian King Salman promised the hospitalized that he “will investigate all the reasons [for the collapse] and afterwards declare the results to the citizens.” At the time of the incident, the mosque – known for being the largest in the world – contained up to 800,000 worshippers from countries such as Iran, Turkey, Afghanistan, Egypt, and Pakistan.

Major renovation work is currently underway at the mosque, as it will soon see the arrival of an approximated 2 million people from all over the world come the Hajj pilgrimage. Even before the incident the renovations were the subject of much alarm, as the mosque contains many historic parts dating back 1,400 years, but also needs to prioritize healthy and safety considering the influx of population it will see in just a few weeks.

According to CNN, the accident will not keep worshippers from making the pilgrimage in the coming weeks. “My main concern is safety issues that arise with such a big crowd,” says one American prepping for the trip. “It’s a reminder to put my trust in God and that I can’t stop death if it’s my time whether I’m there or sleeping safely in bed.”
