We are excited to announce that the Nicholson School of Communication and Media’s Games and Interactive Media program (GaIM) and the Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy (FIEA) have been officially recognized as 2025 Unreal Academic Partners. This prestigious distinction highlights both programs’ commitment to excellence in game development education and their dedication to equipping students with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the dynamic world of interactive entertainment. As an Unreal Academic Partner, each program is further solidifying its reputation as a leading institution in the field, providing students with unparalleled access to cutting-edge technology, resources, and expertise to succeed in the industry. FIEA has been an Unreal Academic Partner for a few years, but both FIEA and GaIM are now elevated to Gold Badge status, the highest level of recognition within the program!

The Unreal Academic Partner Program is an initiative by Epic Games that recognizes and collaborates with educational institutions around the world that are committed to teaching students how to use the Unreal Engine which includes enterprise software licenses, premium service subscriptions, co-marketing opportunities, and marketplace credits for class and research. This program aims to support schools in providing high-quality education in interactive entertainment, game design, and other digital fields. Schools are selected for the Unreal Academic Partner Program based on several key criteria that demonstrate their commitment to high-quality education in fields such as game development, interactive entertainment, and digital media.

The Nicholson School is thankful for the dedicated GaIM and FIEA faculty members for their exceptional hard work and commitment. Their passion for teaching, support for students, and innovative contributions to the field of game development and interactive media are truly inspiring.
