student elda tuchmanJourney of Hope   by Elda Tuchman

Journey of Hope follows the 2025 team of cyclists from Pi Kappa Phi as they ride across the United States to raise awareness and support for people with disabilities. Through moments on the road, reflections from the riders, and the communities they encounter along the way, the film captures the physical and emotional journey behind the organization’s annual cross-country ride. What begins as a introduction to the journey of hope becomes more deeper within the challenges these guys encounter, why they are here, the community engagement, the brotherhood, and the overall message of impacting others that carries these guys mile by mile towards D.C.

In an enclosed studio, Keith, a young photographer navigates a relationship with Luna that drifts between creation and desire. As Keith becomes obsessed with capturing luna through his camera, Luna reflects on their exchanges and their struggle to truly connect. Over several nights, the boundaries between artist and muse begin to dissolve, taking down the subconscious barriers that once set them apart. As the morning sun comes in, detachment returns. Leaving behind questions about the true depth of their human connection outside of art.

Max Rousseau graduated UCF with a Digital Entrepreneurial Cinema MFA in Summer 2013. There, he produced his feature film, Pembroke Circle. In 2017, Rousseau moved to Boston where he currently works as Science Multimedia Coordinator at the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering at Harvard. “My job is to tell the stories behind the cutting-edge science and innovations through short documentaries, narratives and photos.”

Rousseau has worked on projects that celebrate the extraordinary women at the Wyss Institute and that capture the Institute’s creative and innovative spirit as faculty discuss how disruptive technology solutions can positively impact the world. Rousseau is currently working on the second installment to his piece that expresses the impact COVID is having on the Wyss Institute and how the Institute is fighting to assist healthcare workers and to make advancements on the vaccine.
