(Aug. 15, 2024) – Curley & Pynn Public Relations Management received top accolades at the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) Golden Image Awards Gala Tuesday, Aug. 6, earning recognition for outstanding work on Sunshine 811’s “Safe Digging Month” campaign and EA SPORTS’ “Get in the Game” STEAM Camp.
Since 1957, FPRA has annually recognized outstanding PR programs, collateral, digital tools and student projects that exemplify sound research and planning, creative implementation and achievement of extraordinary results.
Sunshine 811 “Safe Digging Month”
Curley & Pynn’s Sunshine 811 “Safe Digging Month” campaign received a Golden Image Award for the highest score in its category – Integrated Marketing – as well as a Judges’ Award for its impressive return on investment and a Judges’ Award for Creativity.
Partnering with Sunshine 811, a not-for-profit corporation focused on promoting safe digging practices in Florida, Curley & Pynn successfully engaged stakeholders in awareness-building efforts for “Safe Digging Month” in April 2024 through timely media relations, creative social media content, strategically boosted videos and more. The campaign led to a staggering 6,691% year-over-year increase in social media-driven website visits, resulting in over 1.4 million people reached on Facebook and contributing to a 10% increase in ticket locate requests in April 2024. Visits to Sunshine 811’s excavator webpage were also up 7,480% year-over-year while visits to the organization’s downloadable toolkit were up 40%.

EA SPORTS “Get in the Game” STEAM Camp
Curley & Pynn also received an Award of Distinction for meeting a set standard of excellence in its execution of EA SPORTS’ 2023 “Get in the Game” STEAM Camp. The team supported coordination and communications for the camp, advancing efforts by the EA SPORTS development team in Orlando to recruit more women and non-binary students into gaming careers. Curley & Pynn strategically managed communication and coordination efforts for the event, handling guest list management, sending invitations, coordinating media relations and even creating talking points for leaders of the EA Orlando team. Additionally, the team provided onsite support, distributed surveys and managed onsite media personnel, ensuring the camp’s success and continued engagement with participants.
As a result, a record-breaking 57 students applied, and all 15 selected participants said the program exceeded their expectations. Plus, nearly all 2022 graduates returned for alumni programming. Overall, Curley & Pynn’s consistent involvement with EA SPORTS’ “Get in the Game” STEAM Camp has reinforced the organization’s initiative to drive diversity in gaming and STEAM fields.
