In October, the Quotes club at the Nicholson School of Communication and Media had their Intern Pursuit event in the Student Union. According to Quotes, Intern Pursuit is the largest internship fair hosted for AD/PR students every semester. During Intern Pursuit, employees interview students and offer them local internship opportunities. Bringing in over 50 employers has truly opened the doors for students.
Nicholle Osorio, President of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists at UCF, mentions that her dream job is “to become an international correspondent for a national network.” And when asked how it felt to be around all of the media experts at the event, she says, “I would say it’s pretty exciting because it’s a great networking opportunity for everybody here.” Jacqueline Cardenty, Content Creator for WFTV also adds that as an organizer of the event she prepared by “contacting and communicating with clubs and our officers… [which gave] students a chance to interview with companies or publications they’re interested in.” Miranda Camp, President of the National Association of Black Journalists and senior broadcast journalism student mentions that the organizations involved in Intern Pursuit “do a resume workshop a week before” and was one of the people that organized it. In addition to this, Camp remarks that she “updated my resume and made my website portfolio which is what we show as broadcast students.”
