Dr. Jamie Vega is a Lecturer in the Nicholson School of Communication and Media and has been with the school since 2019. A Florida native, Dr. Vega is a three-time graduate of UCF, where she’s earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Advertising/Public Relations, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, followed by a Master of Arts in Communication and a PhD in Strategic Communication.

Dr. Vega has been in higher education since 2006 and has held a variety of roles at Central Florida colleges and universities from leading teams to developing and delivering several communication-based courses in both digital and in-person modalities.

Dr. Vega’s research interests include the intersection of communication, psychology and law, particularly understanding more about juries, including how to improve the juror experience by applying plain language practices to court proceedings.

Outside of UCF, Dr. Vega spends her time seeking out new experiences through travel and related activities alongside her husband and daughter.
